Still in the spirit of New Year, on the 2nd day, I was spending time with my friends. I didn’t expect that my friends would even come back home but it was nice to meet them and chat about a lot of things and our plans for 2026.
As usual, when my friends from afar gather, we always like to explore eatery places in town. The first place we meet is at my favorite coffee shop in town called DOGEL. While the place is newly renovated and they are improving their location, unfortunately, their coffee and meals are declining. It’s sad to see the decline in their menu and coffee. I used to go there daily but now, not anymore, due to the lack of quality that is a lot different than before.
For many in the country, while the first day of the year is holiday, everyone is already back at work on the 2nd day. So, some of them were doing Work from Home or really Work from Anywhere.
Catching up with my friends after a while is quite refreshing. That’s why, I even forget we’ve spend many hours together and was in the moment. It’s also why I don’t have so many pictures with me.
The next spot we tried was this place called “Sate Kampret”, it’s basically rice served with peanut sauce and skewered beef. I am not sure why this place is famous nationally and many people from all places eat at this place because I think the taste is so-so and it was quite expensive too.

After going back from the place, I walked to shop at the local market for some more protein. Lately, I have been trying to be a bit more frugal but keeping my protein still on the recommended intake. So, my option is stocking up on Tempe which is a lot more affordable than Chicken or Egg.
I thought I was only going to meet my friend for a few hours, but I got back slightly late and was spending time just talking to them rather than starting work. I need to start preparing for my move as well as my next place to go in February through April. Hopefully, it will be a good place, and I will have some adventure to go.
Sometimes, I also forget that this is Friday but lately, everyday feels like Sunday. How’s your first or 2nd day of the year been like?

Happy New Year !
Happy new year to you and your family.😘
It’s so lovely that you all managed to get together even with work starting back up! I completely agree with what you said about not having many pictures—it’s the best sign that you were truly 'in the moment' and enjoying their company. That’s worth so much more than any photo.
Best of luck with all those plans you made for 2026!✨
