Good Day, Hivers! I Hope You’re All Doing Great
Planning the Trip
Today, I’m excited to share about our trip with my finance family. The plan was simple: go on a road trip and enjoy the day. Before this, they had already talked about how many vans (v-hires) to rent, while some decided to bring their own cars. It was a good thing others brought their cars because it helped us save money.
Our destination was to Cebu City. Since we live along the highway, my superior offered to pick me up in their car. Meanwhile, those living in areas far from the highway agreed to meet at the school so they could ride together in the rented van.
Starting the Journey
On the day of the trip, we left early at dawn so we could arrive in Cebu City early in the morning.
When we got there, it was already bright. Ma’am brought rice and viands for us to eat, so we stopped in Danao to have breakfast. This was great because it helped us save money.
A True Road Trip Experience
After eating, we continued our trip. We didn’t have a fixed destination, so it felt like a true road trip. While driving, we passed by a really nice spot for pictures. Our driver stopped, and we messaged our companions in the van to stop too.
The spot was near Shangri-La Mactan Cebu Hotel. Just to clarify, we didn’t go inside the hotel, only stayed outside.
You might be wondering how I knew it was a hotel. Ma’am mentioned during the trip that it’s a 5-star hotel with a very tall building.
Capturing Memories
When we told our companions to stop, they did, and we all got out to take pictures. It was a perfect moment to take group photos for memories. We posed in front of a sign that says:
“Shangri-La Mactan Cebu.”
The sign was in a grassy area with trees in the background, which made it a great spot for pictures.
Our finance family is a big group, so the photos were fun to take!
Exploring Nearby Locations
After taking pictures, one of our companions suggested, “Let’s visit the Lapu-Lapu Monument since it’s near Shangri-La and the Mactan Shrine.”
Both locations are in Punta Engaño, so it was easy to visit them together because they were only a short distance apart.
A Quick Stop for Snacks
After the photo shoot, we returned to our cars and made a quick detour at a 7-Eleven to pick up some snacks so we would have food later.
For now, that’s it my dear hivers! Thank you for reading my blog. I hope you enjoyed it!
