Playing badminton with friends and then celebrating Grandma's birthday

It was a special Monday whereby there was no school for my eldest son because the school was declaring a special holiday due to them having full-day Sports' Day on Sunday. So, we made full use of this special holiday by organising a badminton play for my eldest son and his friends, followed by celebrating Grandma's birthday in the evening. Let's!!!

Playing Badminton

It was a sad sad moment for my oldest son when actually it was supposed to be 6 of them playing badminton together, ended up 4 of them last minute couldn't turn up. Therefore, impromptuly, my youngest son and I went and joined them too. So, total 4 of us for one court and one hour.

I didn't document or take any photos during the play because it was an exhaustive play. And we had fun!!!

But a group photo of my son and his friend with my youngest son too!

After that, we took some time to freshen up at the washroom/bathroom provided, chitchatted a little at the badminton court waiting area. Then, the friend went home, my youngest son wanted to go home too due to stomachache, so myself and eldest son went for lunch at nearby mamak called NZ restaurant.

Early dinner for Grandma's birthday

On the exact day, it was also their Grandma's birthday. My mother-in-law suggested a place which she had not been there for very long time. It is called Lot 10 Food Court, a famous spot for tourists. We ordered everything she felt like trying, of course, we shared the food together so that each got to taste abit of each.

Fried kuey teow

This one was super famous there for its resemblance to the one at Penang. However, my mother-in-law is from Penang herself so she said it was not that great. Opsie! But the wok-hei was super enough!

Char Hokkien Mee!

This was another famous one there, fried fat noodle in dark soy sauce, using pork lard and a lot of deep fried pork fat. This was greatly delicious, we almost ordered another plate but we didn't.

Chu Cheong Fun

This was rice roll and the sweet type, abit too sweet to our liking and we still think the Penang one was the best.

Macao Pork Chop Rice!

The eldest son walked around and landed at Macao, lol. We were fascinated by this because we saw a few customers around us ordering their Macau Pork Chop Polo Bun, however my eldest son was more drawn towards the rice dish. He said this was the best dish on our table. Lol...

Kuey Teow Soup

We ordered kuey teow soup also but nothing fancy and I forgot to take an individual photo of it.

Roasted pork belly rice and BBQ Pork rice

Lastly, I packed one roasted pork belly rice for supper and a plate of BBQ pork rice to be consumed there. This was very delicious too. Slurp!!!

Dessert

Last and the lastest, suddenly the children said they wanted something sweet, so the eldest ordered one strawberry iced dessert and my youngest one order Bo Bo Cha Cha which was a dessert made by using fragrant coconut milk and the ingredients were sweet potatoes and yam. Both desserts were mouth-watering.

It was our super fruitful Monday and totally no Monday blue at all. Truly, a very blessed birthday to my mother-in-law who is very so loving and kind, always look up for others' needs more than her own one, and she was one who last time kept coming to my house to help us during our difficult time when my youngest son was still using breathing machine and all the medicines for pulmonary hypertension as well as all the therapies we needed to go day in and day out. She is indeed a great pillar to the family.
