Birthday Celebrations
Every year is a blessing. We get to spend more time with our loved ones and share our happy memories with them. Birthday is the most important and memorable day of our lives. One of the best parts of a birthday celebration is the "handa" or food, prepared for the party.

On July 16, we celebrated my cousin's birthday. My tita surprised him with a small birthday celebration. She ordered fruit cake, yema cake, puto, lumpiang Shanghai, and macaroons. While my other tita cooked spaghetti and siomai. We sang a happy birthday song and prayed to give thanks to the Lord. It was so much fun because we had visitors, specifically, our neighbors. And of course I helped wash the dishes.

In July 31, we celebrated the special day of my sister and cousin. We prepared delicious foods. One of the best foods I have tried is the Yema Cake, which looks like a chiffon cake with caramel frosting and tastes so good. Next, of course, is the "pancit," which is always present in every different kind of celebration. We also have puto, siomai, and pizza.

In August 25, we celebrated our grandmother's birthday, and we surprised her with a lot of delicious foods. My tita throws a party to make my grandmother happy since she couldn't attend my grandmother's 80th birthday because she's in America. My grandmother was confused because we acted like we didn't know that it was her birthday, but we were actually preparing for the party at our tita's house. After the long preparation, we turned off all the lights, and my tito called my grandmother to come to their house. And when my grandma came in, we surprised her and wished her a happy birthday. She looks confused and asks how we were able to prepare it all without her knowing. We just laughed and sang her a happy birthday song. We take pictures, give her a flower, and pray to give thanks to God. We had so much fun all night and enjoyed the foods especially there's a lechon. My cousins and I were talking about how delicious the foods are. After the party, I gave my grandma a gift, and she was so happy about it.

In September, we also celebrated my cousin's birthday, but since we were all busy and renovations were made in the house, we didn't have enough time to celebrate it. There was a typhoon that time, and there are heavy rains. My tita only made fruit salad, and it was so good. We shared the fruit salad and ate it while having a little chitchat. I always thank God for giving me a family that values love and time.

I am so happy that I got to spend more time with them, and we never missed any occasions. I will always cherish all those memories that I had with them. I hope that I will be able to spend more time with my family and share my success with them.
