BLOG 24: A New Year to Remember: Throwing Back to 2024

There's no better way to start the new year than with family by your side. Reflecting on the times we've spent together, the things we've learned, and the obstacles we've surmounted has always been a part of New Year's. However, it's also a period of optimism, a new era full of hopes and possibilities. I had the honor of celebrating this year with my family, who are the most important people in my life. We shared love, laughter, and special moments that will last into the new year as we embraced the season's joy together. Cheers to 2025, fresh beginnings, family, and all the wonderful memories we will make.

Welcome to my blog! I wanted to share a throwback of my 2024 New Year experience, since I couldn’t go home for this 2025 New Year due to work. I’d also like to extend my New Year’s greetings to everyone, hoping you enjoyed your New Year with your family and loved ones.

Last year, as we all awaited the arrival of New Year 2024, excitement was building. For our Media Noche celebration, we cooked Bam-i, Premium Ham, Sinugbang Bangus, Mango Float, and Garlic Butter Shrimp. My mother also prepared a prosperity bowl, a tradition we follow every year. We made sure to have circle fruits, such as apples, grapes and oranges, because we believe they bring luck for the year ahead. My mother also prepares some red, blue and violet bills because we believe in wealth, good fortune and prosperity.

Last year, I celebrated New Year with my family, my boyfriend together with his brother. It was the first time we truly enjoyed the New Year together, and it felt special because we were all gathered as one big group. In the past, New Year celebrations felt a bit lonely, especially after my father passed away. But this year, having loved ones around made all the difference, and it brought a sense of warmth and joy that I hadn't felt in a while.

While waiting for the Media Noche, we took some pictures to capture the moments. This one, in particular, shows my boyfriend and his brother, who were both with us celebrating the New Year. It was a fun moment of laughter and memories as we gathered together to welcome the year ahead. Since they are far from their families, I suggested celebrating the New Year with my family.

Also, while waiting for the Media Noche, we took a family picture to capture the special moment. It was a nice way to pause and appreciate the time spent together, all of us smiling and excited for the year ahead. Those little snapshots of joy make the New Year even more memorable, reminding us of the love and togetherness that define our celebrations. I always miss the feeling of having a complete family picture with my father present. It's different now, even though we still have a family picture, my father's picture is just in the frame.

We also have a picture together with our dog, Bambi. This photo was taken by my mother. It feels very special to me because I feel that my boyfriend has always been welcomed into my family. This is my first time celebrating New Year's with him, and our first time experiencing the New Year together, with the love of my life.

Last year, this was my favorite photo that I saved in my gallery. It’s very memorable because it captures a once-in-a-lifetime moment. This photo says everything about the really good things that happened as we celebrated New Year 2024. I love how I see my family welcoming my boyfriend and his brother. We all enjoyed this moment, and we’re still hoping that one day we can celebrate like this again.

As New Year approached, we sat at the dining table and began eating the meal we had prepared. We were very happy and felt grateful to have this New Year setup. We exchanged stories, admired how delicious the food was, and shared some of our New Year's resolutions.

12 AM - Happy New Year! We went outside and watched the beautiful fireworks from our neighbors, and I even jumped this time, just in case I might still get a chance to grow taller, LOL! I’m looking forward to what may happen in 2024. If you read my previous blog, you’d know that I was mesmerized by all the good things that happened to me that year, and I am forever thankful for it.

This is a photo taken recently. My family is happy celebrating New Year with my other siblings and our pets. This New Year 2025, I know we may not be together this time because I still have work, but maybe during the next special holiday, I’m hoping we can be together again so we can be even happier when we're with the family. Wishing this year 2025 more success and opportunities and also personal growth good career for the future well-being.
