Un saludo para todos, me siento genial al poder regresar a esta bella comunidad y hoy quisiera hablarles sobre un día muy especial que pasé junto a mi familia y varios amigos. Ya hace varios meses que mi familia y yo vivimos en Brasil y hemos hecho buenas amistades, sobre todo hemos conocido a otros cubanos que viven aquí también y frecuentemente nos reunimos para pasar un buen rato. Precisamente hace algunas semanas varios de nosotros decidimos hacer un pequeño viaje a un río, ya que el calor del verano está empezando a sentirse muy intenso, y que mejor lugar para refrescar del calor y pasar una tarde muy divertida. Enseguida les cuento los detalles.
Greetings to all, I feel great to be able to return to this beautiful community and today I would like to tell you about a very special day I spent with my family and several friends. My family and I have been living in Brazil for several months now and we have made good friendships, especially we have met other Cubans who also live here and we often get together to have a good time. Just a few weeks ago several of us decided to take a little trip to a river, since the summer heat is starting to feel very intense, and what better place to cool off from the heat and spend a fun afternoon. I'll tell you the details in a moment.
Escogimos un domingo para hacer el viaje, fui con mi familia, mi esposo, su primo y varios de nuestros amigos cubanos. Al llegar al lugar nos quedamos asombrados con tanta belleza, el río estaba muy limpio y tenía varias piedras que formaban pequeñas cascadas. Además, toda el área natural que lo rodeaba hacía el lugar más mágico aún.
We chose a Sunday to make the trip, I went with my family, my husband, his cousin and several of our Cuban friends. When we arrived at the place we were amazed with so much beauty, the river was very clean and had several stones that formed small waterfalls. In addition, all the natural area that surrounded it made the place even more magical.

Me llamó la atención que en ese lugar hubieran varios bancos para sentarse, una mesa y hasta una especie de horno para cocinar. Es el lugar perfecto para compartir y pasar un buen rato. Enseguida nos acomodamos y todos empezaron a traer las cosas para hacer una caldosa, muy a lo cubano. Donde hay cubanos no pude faltar una sabrosa caldosa y mi papá fue el cocinero, pues ya todos han probado su sazón y cocina muy rico, pero claro que todos ayudamos a pelar las viandas y prender el fuego.
It caught my attention that in that place there were several benches to sit on, a table and even a kind of oven for cooking. It is the perfect place to share and have a good time. We immediately settled in and everyone began to bring things to make a caldosa, very Cuban style. Where there are Cubans, it could not miss a tasty caldosa and my dad was the cook, because everyone has already tasted his seasoning and he cooks very well, but of course we all helped to peel the food and light the fire.

Después de merendar algo me metí en el agua, me encantó lo clarita que estaba y sobre todo, muy refrescante. Allí estuvimos nadando un rato y hablando de diferentes temas. El primo de mi esposo sí que se disfrutó la pequeña cascada. También llevamos música cubana para alegrar aún más el día y pasarla mucho mejor, pues aunque estemos lejos de nuestro país, siempre tendremos un pedacito de Cuba en nuestros corazones.
After a snack I went into the water, I loved how clear it was and above all, very refreshing. We were there swimming for a while and talking about different topics. My husband's cousin really enjoyed the little waterfall. We also brought Cuban music to brighten up the day even more and have a much better time, because even though we are far away from our country, we will always have a little piece of Cuba in our hearts.

A la hora de almorzar todos disfrutamos de la caldosa mientras contábamos anécdotas y nos reíamos cantidad. Estuvimos un rato más allí y por la tarde nos regresamos a casa, exhaustos pero muy contentos por lo vivido.
At lunch time we all enjoyed the caldosa while we told stories and laughed a lot. We stayed there for a while longer and in the afternoon we returned home, exhausted but very happy for what we had experienced.

Para mí, este fue un día muy divertido y la mejor parte fue poder compartir con nuestros amigos, pues todos tenemos algo en común que nos une, y es que somos cubanos que vinimos a este país para tener una mejor vida, y me alegra que nos hayan acogido tan bien y nos hayan hecho parte de su grupo, es algo muy bonito y especial.
For me, this was a very fun day and the best part was being able to share with our friends, because we all have something in common that unites us, and that is that we are Cubans who came to this country to have a better life, and I am glad that they welcomed us so well and made us part of their group, it is something very nice and special.
