Hey there, Hive family and friends! If you are doing well today, do not miss out on reading and supporting my today's content.
Just this morning, we received an invitation from my wife's friend, who is celebrating her 50th birthday. When my wife told me about the invitation, I was hesitant to come because I'm not feeling well. I felt so tired after the commencement exercises at our school. I suffered from my asthma, and I only wanted to lie on the bed to recover from being drained due to tons of work just to have successful recognition, completion, and graduation ceremonies. I fell asleep at noon, and when I woke up, I asked my wife if we were going to the birthday celebration. I felt quite fine in the afternoon, and since the location of their house is just in town, we decided to attend.
I told our kids to clean the house first before we leave. They started to keep their stuff and vacuumed the floor. They also fill the water tanks for our chickens. After that, they changed their clothes and got prepared for the short trip. I took a bath to feel fresh and relieved from what I was feeling. We were all prepared at 5:00 o'clock in the afternoon. When my wife's friend sent a message that the food was ready, we went directly to their house.
We arrived at Ma'am Felin's house, where we are going to celebrate her fabulous 50th birthday. We were welcomed by their cyberian huskies. They were big and had fluffy furs. I really want to have one cyberian husky someday. We were also welcomed by their family members, who were also waiting for others to come. The co-teachers of my wife also came to celebrate the awesome five decades. They talked about the outcome of their commencement exercises, which was held last Friday. When it was 6:00 o'clock, Ma'am Felin invited everyone to come inside their house to start the dinner.
The family members of Ma'am Felin lit the candle on the cake, and we sang a happy birthday song to her. They then took the opportunity to take photographs before partaking in the food. Her husband surprised her with a bouquet of red roses. Afterwards, one of their family members led the blessing of the food. She even prayed to bless the family with abundance in all aspects of life. Ma'am Felin and her husband, Sir Leo, were truly blessed. They also share their blessings with their family members, especially those who really need help.
The dinner started, and I asked my wife to get some food for Ioseph. I told her that I'd just feed Jehoia this time so that it would not take more plates since there were also guests waiting outside. I washed my hands first because I wanted to eat using my bare hands. Many of us Filipinos loved to eat with our bare hands. Even some celebrities who grew up in poor families will sometimes do that. I choose to have the pork adobo, a little chicken afritada, pancit, and the lechon.
I then went to the living room, where Jehoia was sitting. Ioseph also sits beside her. My wife then took us a photo with some of her friends. While eating, we also talk about our plans for a vacation. They always tell us where they are heading. Despite our lack of budget, they always find a way to include us. That's why we are so lucky to have all of them. We even talk about going to ride on a cruise ship someday. Though it's far from being possible, there's nothing wrong with dreaming of it. We just laugh out loud while fantasizing about that dream.
Ma'am Felin served the delicious fruit salad. I get 4 for ma'am Kate (my son's teacher), who is sitting beside me, and one for me, my wife, and for Ioseph. Ma'am Felin also served the delicious macaroons and the watermelon slices. My wife asked for water for Jehoia since she had never tried to drink soda. One thing we are grateful for is that she will never accept soda drinks as her beverage.
Some of our learners came to celebrate with us. They were nieces of Ma'am Felin. They were shy at first when they saw me. I guess I am the one who needs to be shy because they are blood-related to the celebrant. The daughters of our guidance designate were also there. Her husband is the brother of the celebrant. They ate and savored the delicious foods.
When we finished our food, we ate the dessert, which is the fruit salad, and had some macaroons. They were all delicious, and it made our stomachs full. My wife and her friends continued their conversation about their plans for the vacation. They discussed the possible expenses and how to book a room to stay. I am excited and, at the same time, feel worried about the expenses. But I hope and pray that we will receive the payment from those who borrowed money from us so that we can also pay our dues and enjoy our travel soon.
I was just playing with my phone when I noticed Jehoia eating the remaining watermelon. She savored the remaining melon while Ioseph was busy watching clips on the phone. I've been telling my wife that we need to go home because we need to check our chickens. But they were busy with their chitchat. I just waited until they were finished. We went home at 8:00 o'clock. It was just a short trip, but it was as if we had it all day due to fun-filled conversations with friends.
It was indeed a fabulous five decades, and we pray for more to go for Ma'am Felin. May her family receive all the blessings from heaven and share them with other people. We were very grateful that we took part in this celebration of life.
That would be all for this blog. I hope you had a great time reading this. Till next time.
