Hello, Internet folks, how's it going? How were your holidays? I actually had a really good time with my family, so today I'm going to tell you all about it.
Hola, gente de Internet ¿todo bien? ¿Cómo pasaron las fiestas? Yo la verdad lo pasé bastante bien y divertido con mi familia así que les contaré hoy sobre eso
We start with Christmas dinner. In Venezuela, the Christmas meal consists of hallacas (a kind of tamale made with beef, pork and chicken), pan de jamón (bread stuffed with ham, bacon, olives and raisins) and chicken salad, although it can also be made with roast beef. My mum made the salad, everyone made the hallacas (it is traditional for all the family to make them together because of the company and the hard work involved), and it is more common to buy pan de jamón than to make it. Everything was delicious!
Empezamos con la cena navideña, en Venezuela el plato navideño contiene la hallaca (una especie de tamal de carne de res, cerdo y pollo) pan de jamón (relleno de jamón, tocino, aceitunas y pasas) y ensalada de gallina (de pollo) y también puede ser de asado de res. La ensalada la hizo mi mamá, las hallacas todos (es tradición hacerlas entre todos los familiares por la compañía y por el trabajo arduo que llevan) y el pan de jamón es más común comprarlo que hacerlo. ¡Todo estuvo delicioso!
We had fun telling stories and eating dinner. My uncle (my mum's brother) is quite funny when he tells stories, so we laughed a lot.
Nos divertimos contando anécdotas y comiendo la cena. Mi tío (hermano de mi mamá) es bastante gracioso cuando cuenta sus anécdotas así que nos reímos bastante.
We took some family photos, which was quite fun. We also ate some snacks and drank soft drinks. Something very curious happened. I don't usually drink alcohol; in fact, I tend to refuse alcoholic beverages because I can taste the alcohol and find it unpleasant. That's what happened with the eggnog, but this time it wasn't strong at all. In fact, it was very delicious, very much so. So, of course, I drank it 😁.
Nos sacamos algunas foto en familia fue bastante divertido. además comimos algunas botanas y bebimos refresco. Pasó algo muy curioso y es que generalmente no bebo alcohol, de hecho las bebidas con alcohol las suelo rechazar porque siento las notas de alcohol y me resulta desagradable, era lo que me pasaba con el ponche crema (ponche de huevo) pero esta vez la verdad no estaba para nada fuerte, de hecho estaba muy delicioso, mucho. Así que claro que bebí 😁
We really had a great time. After hanging out for a while, we went to one of my aunts' houses, where I ate again (there was also Christmas dinner, which I love 😍) and we played ‘Stop’. I had a great time, it was really fun and I felt happy. I hope you had a happy Christmas too 🤗.
La verdad que nos lo pasamos muy bien, después que pasamos el rato fuimos a casa de una de mis tías y ahí comí de nuevo (es que también había cena navideña y la amo 😍) y jugamos "Stop". Me la pasé genial, fue muy divertido y me sentí feliz. Espero que hayan tenido una navidad feliz también 🤗
