On December 31, 2023, we joyously celebrated the year's end with families across the nation, eagerly anticipating the arrival of the new year amidst the hustle of 2023. Grateful for both the positive and challenging moments, I embraced them as integral parts of my growth journey.
Our New Year's Day unfolded with a customary mass at Compostela Church, witnessing a larger congregation on this special occasion. Despite diverse preferences in life, it was the essence of respect and kindness that held significance.
Post-mass, we gathered at my husband's aunt's house for a grand family dinner, a cherished tradition.
The menu featured Pochero, Crispy Pata, Buttered Shrimp, Fish, Carbonara, Spaghetti, accompanied by the essential rice. Popular cola and water served as our beverages, and we concluded the feast with delightful cakes and macaroni salad.
Following our meal, we immersed ourselves in the lively disco music and engaged in playful games, eagerly anticipating the stroke of midnight. Sleep eluded us all, including my little son, who gleefully explored our surroundings and marveled at the large fireworks set to illuminate the night.
As part of our table display, we featured the prosperity bowl, believed to usher in blessings and good luck for the entire family, coupled with hard work and perseverance throughout the upcoming year. Embracing this belief, we celebrated with gratitude.
As the clock struck midnight, a resounding "Happy New Year!" echoed through the air, accompanied by joyous cheers, symbolizing the casting away of negative energies. Fireworks illuminated the sky, spreading happiness, and smiles adorned people's faces, reflecting genuine joy and gratitude for and
other year bestowed by the Almighty.
