I don't quite understand why, what is wrong with making a game on a ready-made blockchain?
I meant more from a design perspective. All of the blockchain games I see are clearly designed by thinking about the blockchain first, and a good gaming experience second. The only value I've found in them is the money to be made. They are often overly complicated, poorly explained, and have mechanics built around tokenomics.
Likewise, the art is generally meh. But to each their own here.
But imagine a game like RDR2 or Witcher 3 that incorporates blockchain tech. Something fun to play because it's fun to play, not because it has the potential to generate income.
It is early days in this space, and maybe we'll get there someday, but right now the only people I imagine playing these games are those who are interested in the money aspect.
That said, Polygon has some interesting things on the horizon. Their Quake3 demo, namely.
TOTALLY agree
