Algo que tenía pendiente por hacer hace rato era actualizar poco a poco los equipos que tengo en mi setup de trabajo.

Something that I had pending to do for a long time was to update little by little the equipment that I have in my work setup.

Empezando por mi viejo monitor Samsung que ya tenía un gran detalle (una mancha en la esquina superior izquierda).

Starting with my old Samsung monitor that already had a large detail (a spot in the upper left corner).

Dando una vuelta por el centro comercial, decidí entrar a Multimax, (una tienda multimarca que vende electrodomesticos). En ese momento no tenía la intención de gastar en nada, solo entrar y ver qué había de bueno luego del hype de la gente en diciembre por el black friday (el único tema era que justo venía de cobrar un pago de unos $400 como desarrollador web).

While walking around the mall, I decided to go into Multimax, (a multi-brand store that sells appliances). At the time I had no intention of spending on anything, just to go in and see what was good after the hype of people in December for black friday (the only issue was that I had just come from collecting a payment of about $400 as a web developer).

Literalmente fue una visita entrada por salida, la cosa es que de salida termine con un Smart Tv de 32" JVC y un Monitor/Tv JVC de 24" 🤣 (el primero quedó como un regalo para la casa).

Literally it was an entrance by exit visit, the thing is that on the way out I ended up with a Smart Tv 32" JVC and a Monitor/Tv JVC 24" 🤣 (the first one was left as a gift for the house).

El costo del monitor que elegí para mi espacio de trabajo JVC HD de 24" fue de unos $90 aproximadamente. El primer reto fue conseguir una nueva mesa/escritorio para poder tenerlo junto a mi laptop (la que tenía le quedaba grande ese monitor).

The cost of the monitor I chose for my workspace JVC HD 24" was about $90 approximately. The first challenge was to get a new desk/table so I could have it next to my laptop (the one I had was too big for the monitor).

Así que me decidí por un viejo escritorio que estaba en una oficina de la casa (y me tocó improvisar un poco para tener el monitor en alto detrás de la laptop).

So I decided on an old desk that was in a home office (and I had to improvise a bit to have the monitor up behind the laptop).

En principio tenía cero expectativas, sobre todo por el tamaño del monitor, pues al ser widescreen pensaba que podía ser algo incómodo trabajar con él. Pero lo cierto es que mi espacio de trabajo es más que eso, es el lugar donde a diario paso la mayor parte del tiempo:

At first I had zero expectations, especially because of the size of the monitor, because being widescreen I thought it could be somewhat uncomfortable to work with it. But the truth is that my workspace is more than that, it is the place where I spend most of my time every day:

Otos productos que elevarían mi productividad | Other products that would increase my productivity

Sin dudas un plus para este Setup sería tener uno de esos brazos para monitores que se ajustan a la tabla de la mesa (por ahora es algo que tendrá que esperar), pero ya tengo en la mira varios en Mercadlibre que se ven así:

No doubt a plus for this Setup would be to have one of those monitor arms that adjust to the tabletop (for now it's something that will have to wait), but I already have my eye on several on Mercadlibre that look like this:

Otro producto que ya estoy planificando comprar es una silla 🙏 estar sentado tantas horas es matador y en mi caso la silla es de lo más importante, sobre todo que cubra toda la espalda.

Another product I'm already planning to buy is a chair 🙏 sitting for so many hours is a killer and in my case the chair is most important, especially that it covers the whole back.

La mejor inversión | The best investment

Lo mejor que puedes hacer para retribuirte todo lo que haces a diario en el trabajo es invertir en ti o en tus equipos, para mí ha sido de las mejores cosas que he podido hacer.

The best thing you can do to give back for everything you do every day at work is to invest in yourself or your equipment, for me it has been one of the best things I have been able to do.

Gracias al freelance he podido costear los gastos del hogar, restauración de un carro, actualización de equipos, entre otros. Y espero que así se mantenga 😅

Thanks to freelancing I have been able to afford household expenses, restoration of a car, equipment upgrades, among others. And I hope it stays that way 😅.
