Dear friends of the community, here is my contribution to the Feathered Friends - Show Me A Photo Contest Round 64, Birds in the grass, the white stork (Ciconia ciconia).
Some time ago I visited a small zoo, which houses almost only local species of animals. The entrance there is free, and so it is visited by many families. There I was able to photograph this stork that was foraging at this small body of water.
He was raised in this zoo as a chick and returns here every year from Africa to now breed himself.
A nest was prepared for him and his partner, which the two have accepted.
The stork in the picture shows no shyness towards the people in the park, while his partner is rarely seen there.
According to the park operators, this stork pair is the only one within a radius of 100 kilometers.
I hope you enjoyed my photos. :)
All photos were made by myself. Thank you for your attention. Yours @werkseber
Really good photos! It's an amazing bird. There is a nest near where I live. Hopefully one day little ones.
Thank you!
I'm pretty sure if they have a nest they will breed. And then you can watch the young birds.
Wonderful choice for entry, storks are among my favorite birds to photograph. There is a stork family close to my working place where they nest each year.
Lovely shots, very nicely captured. 🙂
Thanke you! I love storks, too. They always remind me that the warm season is just around the corner.
For me, they represent life coming back after a long winter.
Exactly, they bring hope the winter is over. 🙂
Yay! 🤗
