🦉 The common sandpiper (Actitis hypoleucos)
📚 Actitis (Greek) - inhabitant of the coast
📚 hypoleucos (Greek): - whitish
Every year I go to visit relatives in the neighboring region. They have flooded meadows and steppe outside the city.
And every year I visit these places where interesting birds live. Yes, this sandpiper is not very interesting, but the very fact that I met him is unusual.
The fact is that it was the very beginning of May, and a week or even two remained before the arrival of these birds. However, he met me then.
He was alone. He wandered through the mud that was along just a small stream. He shouted unpleasantly (I don’t really like the voice of this bird), and briskly shook his tail like a wagtail.
