πŸ¦‰ The yellowhammer (Emberiza citrinella)

πŸ“š Emberiza embritz (Old German) bunting
πŸ“š citrinella citrine (lat.) yellow; citrinella (Italian) yellow bird

As soon as spring begins, the weather becomes warm and the snow is actively melting, I meet this bird. Moreover, in the same place, near the ravine where the stream flows. Apparently this is already an old male, since I have seen him for the 4th year already.

πŸ¦‰ The common chaffinch or simply the chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs

πŸ“š fringilla (lat.) - finch; fi nco (Old German), fi nc (Old English)
πŸ“š coelebs coelebs (lat.) - single, idle, unmarried

Still, the very first birds that arrive in the spring are chaffinches. Males arrive first. They begin to search and seize territories, and with their songs they indicate that this territory is theirs.

πŸ¦‰ The European greenfinch or simply the greenfinch (Chloris chloris)

πŸ“š Chloris khlōros (Greek) green; yellow

A little later, these yellow-green birds arrive. They are quite cowardly and it is not so easy to approach them just to take a photo. They are much less common than chaffinches.

πŸ¦‰ The black kite (Milvus migrans)

πŸ“š Milvus (lat) - kite
πŸ“š migrans (lat.) - migrating

And these tough guys arrive at the beginning of April. But first they appear in the forests, and then after a few weeks they can be observed in the city. True, I do not know what they eat in such a cold early season. Most likely a rodent. And in the courtyards, they inspect trash cans.
