🦉 The meadow pipit (Anthus pratensis)
- Anthus (ancient Greek mythology) Antus, son of Hippodamia, turned into a bird
- pratensis Latin: pratum meadow, pratensis meadowy

This wagtail (and this is the family to which this bird belongs) is very similar to the familiar tree pipit. At first glance, they are practically indistinguishable.

However, if you look closely, you'll notice a slightly yellowish head—that's the first thing you notice. Another distinguishing feature is the length of their claws.
And, of course, their habitats. This species lives, as its name suggests, in meadows. That's where I encountered it, in the meadows outside the city, in the steppe zone.
