🦉 The yellowhammer (Emberiza citrinella)

  • Emberiza embritz (Old German) bunting
  • citrinella citrine (lat.) yellow; citrinella (Italian) yellow bird

Outside the city there are meadows near a river, and in the middle of these meadows there is a small lake. And on the shore of this lake in the bush I met this bird. By the way, please note that the bird is very well camouflaged by its plumage, in the middle of these thickets.

By the way, regarding appearance. In my city, and maybe the region as a whole. Birds of this species live with exactly this appearance. With orange and brown spots and stripes, and looks like a honey cake with jam, rather than completely yellow as usual.
