🦉 The coal tit or cole tit (Periparus ater)
- Peri (Greek) very, hugely
- Parus (lat.) Tit
- ater (lat.) black, dark
I met these little birds in the fall. At this time, as I understand it, they migrate to coniferous forests. For some reason they really gravitate towards them. Even living in a mixed forest, they stick to places where coniferous trees grow, I don’t know why.
The bird is more timid than the familiar great tit, its sister. But in the spring, during the mating season, you can come close to a singing male, he will not be afraid, within reasonable limits, of course.
