Gooseberry thief. Part 2.

in Feathered Friends3 years ago

The shadow of death was approaching.
071.jpg

Oh yes, "Hallo", the Harrier Hawk kept his promise and he was coming in.
His full name is Halloween because he is so so scary.

You can find Part 1 Here

Now I bet my last dollar that none of you could think about a solution like this to stop the gooseberry thief in his tracks.
I had a real brainwave and applied my thoughts literally and practically.
So come and see how the rest of this amazing solution worked out.

Slowly "Hallo" drifted in and he put his most menacing face on.
072.jpg

Lower he swooped over the garden to the frozen attention of everyone in the garden.
073.jpg

This little guy was transfixed as he stared up at the sky.
058.jpg

Shame, this little lady was thinking about a bath in the garden and as she saw the hawk, her legs went lame with fright for a second.
077.jpg

Then she recovered and she was out of here in a flash.
075.jpg

Now for the ultimate solution!

I called the chief of the harrier hawk association and asked him for a favor.
Please to send "Hallo" over the garden and the chief called me back to tell me that "Hallo" promised to come, as he just had to fetch his jacket from the Hawk dry cleaners.
So after "Hallo" flew over I made a sign.

A sign that says it all.

I planted the sign here in front of the gooseberry bush.
056.jpg

Now if this sign doesn't scare the gooseberry thief, nothing will hehehe.
054.jpg

The garden residents can all understand English, as the squirrels went to the local squirrel school and the birds went to the #featheredfriends bird school. So they can all read the sign.
If any of them struggle with English, we simply ask the famous English language fundi @fionasfavorites to help them. @lizelle sends them recipes and @ericvancewalton takes care of their meditation needs.
@tarazkp takes care of their financial queries.
Btw. These are all @silverbloggers admin and mods.

By now if you haven't figured out that this is a post filled with jokes, then I can supply you with a great witchdoctor that we have here, as he also treats that Austrian mountain goat @johannpiber.

In my book Friday is a fun day and we should all walk around with smiles on our dials.
I am looking forward to the gooseberry recipes that the Hive ladies are going to send me 😉

I need one of those signs! I harvested buckets of gooseberries before the birds and squirrels found my bushes. Or I should rather send them to the squirrel school and the feathered friends bird school! Or even better, I should employ the harrier hawk to keep an eye out for me.

Oh yeah, best is to get the hotline for the Harrier hawks 🤣
And you have to put a warning sign up as bird rights are in their constitution and you could have the Hawks after you 🤣

Oh, I do not want that! haha better leave some snacks for them then! 🤣

Yep, save yourself is the motto nowadays 😘

Haha, yes, the wichdoctor is great and he has helped me a lot by staying away from me after his first visit ...
When he came to me with the bones of dead animals (hopefully only animal bones) and with his big pot and all these weird ingredients I thought 'cool, that's a completely new experience and he will certainly help me'.
Then he then started to cook the medicine in this big black pot and I watched him fascinated.
But when he then asked me to chew a mouthful of poop from both of my cats and spit it into the pot, I was suddenly healed from whatever malady I might have had 😂🤣

Hahaha, you are such a funny guy,
But you see Hannes, that was the witchdocor's trick, to show you via a bit of aversion that you can heal yourself. They call him mister magic and he has a Phd in psychology, so he can even cure mountain goats 🤣

Cheers and thanks.

Oh yes, I knew it 😁 it was all a psycho thing, the bones were plastic bones and the poop would also have been fake ... am I right? But the frog eyes looked so real 🤣

!PIZZA and !BEER - sounds like a nice dinner :)

Not sure the !PIZZA worked it seems to come and go

Well I am pleased that you are relaxing JJ.
The Pizza comes and goes??? How can that be?

I really am not sure about it, sometime sit seems to work other times not

Well, I will just have to sit and wait to see how it goes.

Hope that you guys will have a good new week my friend.

LOL, you are full of mischief Mr Papilloncharity!
I hope your sign works but you'll first have to teach them to read;)

Me? Mischief? Sorry Lady Lizzie that word does not exist in my dictionary :)
Now I would be flattered would you be to call me innocent or something likewise.

As I explained in the post it is @fionasfavourites duty to teach the culprits English and I am just the innocent and kind hearted soul whose dreams of gooseberry tart could be shattered.

Ah, none so deaf as those who won't listen...and substitute reading and learning...🤣

Gooseberries grow in abjndance here. We see few berries thanks to the bulbuls and mouse birds. I did get enough one year to make a bit of jam. If I do, this year, there will be a pot for your. Free if you collect! And for you @lizelle ...

We need to plan a visit to the Cape again @fionasfavourites!

You are very kind and I was meaning to come up there some time Lady Fiona.
We have been to Swellendam, Worcester, Bain's Kloof, Paarl and Wellington thus far. The stretch between Worcester and McGregor we haven't done yet, but the weather must be right.

We're not going anywhere. Although I can't say the same for the gooseberries!

Hahaha, we will see you when we see you.
