Great Northern Diver (Gavia immer) Newquay, Cornwall

in Feathered Friends4 years ago

A few photos of a single 'Great Northern Diver' seen last week(I observed for around a week, myself) at the Fly Cellars/Cove Newquay, Cornwall.

I also recorded the sighting using the Cornwall Wildlife Trust website: https://erccis.org.uk/ which is the Environmental Records Centre for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly (ERCCIS)

Wonderful photos! 8 don't believe I have ever seen photos of that bird before. Thanks for posting to the #featheredfriends community

No worries, It's the first time I've seen one myself 😊

I have seen loons many times, and but have never heard them called Great Northern Diver!

Well we tend to get more Loons during the Summer here in Newquay(joke)😉
