We don't have very many of these hooded crows. Where I photograph them, I saw only 2 individuals. who lived there permanently. There was a small forest of various trees. There was a river on one side of the forest. It was in this place that the hooded crows usually appeared. They often sat for a long time on the tops of large trees and looked at the surroundings of the forest from a height.

But now it got colder and it got pretty cool. In the mornings there is heavy drizzle on the ground and grass. These are difficult times for birds. " "DSC06658-4.jpg""

I walked to the forest along the river bank. On the way, there is a boat station on the shore. It only works in the summer. People can come and take a boat or catamaran for a small fee for a while. In the onset of autumn, the boat station is closed. Birds often fly to the area where the boat station is located. Many people bring sandwiches with them and often feed the birds. They are used to it. that they are given food here.

I approached the boat station when I suddenly saw two hooded crows wandering through the grass in search of food. At first I stopped and thought that as soon as the crows noticed me they would immediately fly away. But that did not happen. I then slowly began to approach them to see what they were looking for there. Crows scattered fallen leaves on the grass and examined them carefully. They found white larvae under the leaves and immediately ate them. " "DSC06671-4.jpg""

They were apparently very hungry. Therefore, they did not pay much attention to me. They only tried to stay away from me. I decided not to rush and stood still and did not move. Gradually the gray crows got used to me and soon they themselves began to approach me. S tried not to make sudden movements so as not to frighten them away. " "DSC06675-4.jpg""

I managed to photograph them while they were busy looking for food. I was just lucky. The first time I saw hooded crows so close Apparently hunger dulled their sense of danger. Of course, when you can find food nearby, you don't want to fly away at all.

They continued to wander through the grass and look under the leaves, which lay in large numbers on the grass.

In this video, you can see hooded crows pulling food out from under the leaves.
