Feathered Friends - Show Me A Photo Contest Round 62

in Feathered Friends3 years ago

Hello Feathered Friends Lovers,

Welcome to #SMaP Show Me A Photo Contest Round 62!

This is not quite a new theme, @joanstewart proposed it and reminded me about it - BIRDS IN FLIGHT. It is fascinating to watch them fly free in the sky. Big birds are attractive and magnificent. Small are hard to catch in frame. For me it is mainly luck. So, I am curious what you will have to show.

And here it is:

BIRDS IN FLIGHT

My example photos are from yesterday. The stork and the kestrel. More about them, you can see in post Feathered Saturday.

I'm looking forward to this new week 😁

Yes, it is going to be a very interesting week. 🙂
I am so happy to keep on receiving suggestions about the contest themes.

Thanks so much @barbara-orenya and wishing you a lovely week with birds in art format.

Those pictures of your birds in flight are just awesome. That's what I really like about #SMAP, it's about not only birds but photography. There's some real talent out there and I enjoy checking it out.

Great work Neli, thanks for all you do for the community.

Aww, thank you so much for your kind words, they mean a lot to me. ❤

Excellent photos and a great theme for the week ahead!

Thank you Melinda, I am glad there are entries already. 🙂

It is an incomparable freedom to see a bird fly in the sky.

This theme is very difficult to actualize, mainly because the object is always in the distance, and you're absolutely right @nelinoeva, luck is far more decisive.
But, those who try in earnest will succeed.

You said is right. It is not an easy task, but the reward of capturing that freedom in frame is immense.

First to enter! Thank ypu very, very much @sunscape!

The topic is interesting and challenging I think. I will try to get some shots!

This is such a great entry with the symbol of peace!

Hi @ratel, thanks so much for submitting your entry!

Really nice photos of the birds. I wish I was a bird, to be able to fly freely and explore the world from above. I remember several times birds attacked my drone while in flight so I learn to throttle up or down fast because going either sides the birds were more agile to catch up with my drone. Later I learn they were defending territory. Nice share OP. I love it.

Thank you very much for your comment.
I can imagine how the birds attack the drone. They are indeed very territorial.

I am a pure amateur drone pilot and my mind is very curious to always learn, so a very cool observation I made is the birds seems sort of impressed when I throttle up. Maybe they think my drone is more powerful than them in my opinions and they can't do fasts ascends & descends like the drones apparently. So, they sort of back off and pause and observe for a few secs before bailing out the chase. Super cool when I can anticipate their presence and throttle up or hard descend is the way to avoid disastrous collisions. It seems when piloting evasively sideways, they will tend to fight more and they are way more agile in this perspective. Birds are very interesting.

That is quite interesting observation. Birds are very clever, but drones are new for them and they also learn. Have you got photos of birds made with the drone?

I wish i had taken photos. But in the fire of the action, evasive manœuvres was more of a priority. But I did wish to have been able to film the attacks that would be so interesting to watch.

Great, thank you so much for your entry!
