Feathered Friends Friday - A Lonely Sparrowhawk! 🦅

in Feathered Friends3 years ago (edited)

Hi, feathered lovers! Today I come to tell you the story of a poor sparrowhawk, who for days has been stalking a turtledove nest but has never been able to reach it. Whenever he tries to approach the nest, the smaller birds attack him to such an extent that he has to flee.

Yesterday he stood on a dry branch of an old tree, to have a better view of the nest but he slipped and then climbed up the trunk of the tree, and when he was looking towards the nest, I think he was doing his calculations to see if he could reach and land on the nest without problems, then the small birds arrived again, flew near him and surrounded him standing on the branches nearby, although he was not intimidated and continued standing there, but within minutes he took off and flew away.

Every day he comes to try his luck, sometimes there are two of them but none of them come very close to the turtledoves' nest. I think it is a sacred nest, two generations of chicks have already hatched there and although the hawks have stalked them, they always survive.

Cool... I like this bird it is very hard to photography this here.

Hi Foxkoit! They are very common here, I hear them a lot of the time in the trees, and when there are pigeon nests near the building where I live, they come close and that's when I can take pictures of them. Sometimes I get lucky or other times they leave before I point the camera at them. Thanks for stopping by. I wish you a happy weekend! 🤗

You see lot them 😄👌👌 ok...ok, I be soon more back and see how you more photography them.

The poor hawk! It only wanted some lunch. I saw a similar thing happen to me a month or so ago. I walked in the garden and saw a dove on the road. Whilst watching the dove, a hawk swooped down and tried to catch the dove. The dove escaped and a bunch of crows attacked the poor hawk. It was rather surreal to see it happen so quickly infront of my eyes!

Hey good thing you saw that show with your own eyes! It happens a lot here, I'm just not lucky enough to be able to record those moments because they happen so fast! Thanks for stopping by! 🤗
