That's a beautiful dog, although your assistant is now gone.
Yep, living closer to the sea would be awesome, but maybe I wouldn't appreciate it as much if I lived there ... I don't know.

Well I will sure find another assistant my friend, nature is full of volunteers 🤞
We discovered a huge change here and I will never stay in a seafront house Hannes.
Up here in town the wind is light and pleasant, then we went down to the beach and the wind was fierce.
Coming in from the open sea, it hits the beach and the houses in full force.
So close, but not too close is always better 😉
Cheers and thanks.
Yep, I have seen videos of such storms and these houses at the beach have to be built different from other houses, I believe, so that you can sit inside and enjoy the waves crashing against your windows 😁

Terrible my friend especially facing the stormy Atlantic ocean. The houses and buildings are all brick and plaster and some of them were built in the 1930s.
They have built some concrete bulwarks in order to protect the beach road, but the waves crashes right over them and fill the road with white beach sand.
Cheers and thanks.
I wonder why they don't build them to stay during the worst weather. The people who can afford a house at the water should be able to afford stronger buildings.

Totally agreed with you, but most people already have houses inland and they build the houses at the sea as holiday houses. So they don't want to spend much money on a holiday house, as they only use it once a year. We see many houses here that are vacant for the whole year until the owners come to stay for the December holidays. 3 weeks and then the house is empty again.
Cheers and thanks.
Somehow I understand it, but somehow I don't. I would build my holiday house as solid as my main house, because I wouldn't want to get surprised when I go there for holidays and find a destroyed house ... 🙄
!BEER and !WINE - both make a nice dinner with !PIZZA :)

Oh, many do that here, but many also take short cuts. It also depends on the land that they build on, as if it's not stable, a mudslide can easily remove the house. Then of course fire is also a culprit that can destroy many houses. It think that eventually someone will design an almost indestructible house.
Maybe a house with thick fire proof plastic walls that can be folded up and down. In case of a flood the house can simply flow away to be fetched after the flood is over 😉
Cheers and thanks.
