Yeah, we're having 3 or 4 night shifts (24 hour shifts) a month. If we had it all the time on a rotational basis I wouldn't like it at all.

Overtime pays well if the government don't tax too much, here the tax made overtime more blood money rather than additional earnings. Many places push in two or three shifts on rotational basis as they feel where overtime is required more people should be employed,

Of course a lot of hours which I work (or sleep) unpaid because of tax, but in the end it's still more money than I usually would have 😀
We don't work in shifts in the office - the night shifts I do are security relatet: we guard our property and the entrance 😉 I'm the sleeping night watchman 😂 !LOLZ

Both my husband and son worked shift really tough getting used to it. Sleeping night watchman 👀 all good if you don't snore and scare yourself in the dark. Little sleep goes to tax rebate, can't be too tired at home.
The colleagues on the streets have kind of shift work. That's one reason why I prefer my office work.
Well, I don't snore or better said I haven't heard me snoring yet. So I could believe my wife and my colleagues or maybe they lie 🤣

Adding as much as possible to pension is best thing one can do in latter years of working, it all helps toward future holidays! Scotland and Midges

That's another thing - I have to think about my future in Scotland, not so much about the midges 🤣
Even if I would snore, I have colleagues whose snoring you can hear through the walls. That's real snoring, but not these nice and melodic tones I make while I sleep 😆

Will work out with a little planning, if it's something you really wish to do, just go while you are able.
Make the most of the shift, snoring or not, so long as you don't wake yourself up.
