Since it's getting colder there are less insects, so the birds have more difficulties finding their food. That's why I help them a bit by giving them some food.
I have this bird feeder which attracts a lot of birds.
The bird feeder is in a small cage so only the small birds can reach it. Otherwise the cheeky Jackdaws steal all the food. As you can see the small tits can reach the food perfecly.
Of course I don't forget the bigger birds. I also sprinkle some seeds on the ground for them and apple cores for the blackbirds.
Some of the small birds prefer to stay on the ground like this little sparrow.
Another frequent visitor is this Red Robin. It looks lovely, but it can be quite aggressive towards other birds. You wouldn't say that if you look at its cute appearance.
Finally I have taken a photo of a Eurasian Jay. These birds are quite shy and never really come close to the house. They look pretty with their blue feathers, but they can make an awful lot of noise when they are arguing with the Jackdaws 😀

Photographing is my passion. Although I like photography in general, nature photography is one of my favourite subjects. I often go out with my camera for a hike to capture the beauty of nature.

Wow, I am stunned by the level of your generosity, anyone won’t really think of caring for God’s little creatures. I am sure their creator is happy and would bless you in return
Thanks, but it's just a small gesture. And I really like them in my backyard. Not only to be able to photograph them, but it's also wonderful to hear them sing.
I understand your point, bird sound connotes the sound of nature more than any other sound, I thing next is the sound of toad beside a river bank
The cage is a good idea, but it must drive the squirrels mad 🤣
We don't have squirrels over here....
I thought it would rather drive them nuts 😉
But it's the same for the Jackdaws.
🤣 it must be fun to watch! Sorry to hear that you don't have squirrels!
@friendlymoose A feeder will certainly attract birds to the backyard and once it gets accepted as safe, a lot of species may come. Great. I tried one some time ago but perhaps the season was wrong so saw nothing except jungle babblers come for feeding.
I love the click of the black bird. Crisp!
I mostly photograph in the wild. So, it is difficult to get a nice shot but I do manage to get some nice ones I think. 😀
Thanks!
These birds are also in the wild 😉
But I see what you mean. I like photographing them in forests too although it is far more difficult since you don't easily attract them with food.
@friendlymoose True. Most of the species will be in the forests surrounding cities too. As you say, far more difficult to photograph there due to tree canopy cover, busy backgrounds, obstructions etc.

Love the birds... Looks like you have quite a variety that come to feed. I need to get a few for my place; there are lots of wild birds here, too.
Thanks for sharing this!
Cheers!
