Every winter I have a bag full of millet for the birds. I usually put the food for them where there is no snow under the trees...but since I'm always afraid they won't find the food, I leave a few grains in the footprints of my shoes. These little birds found the grains right there.
There used to be many more sparrows in the city, but I rarely saw them for years, so I'm glad they're still there.
