Haaa yes that's a good point!
Just imagine what it would be saying if it did watch TV...😱
And you know that they do bark like dogs too...
And sound like chainsaws and a whole bunch of other man made noises...

I hope to meet one some day! I think there was one at the San Diego Zoo years ago when I was a kid, but I don't recall any fun sounds.
Not sure as they are totally unique to Australia only, so unless they imported one there or had a rescue...which is more than possible as there was a Cassowary called Bernie in the animal sanctuary in Thailand that I volunteered at a few years ago and he was there because some smugglers were caught with him in their suitcase and because he was stuffed in there and suffered oxygen loss, he grew up to be brain damaged...
Poor buddy!! I'm glad Bernie got a second chance, though.
The SD zoo claims to only have rescue/rehabilitated animals that can't go back to the wild. I think. Anyway, they get all kinds of animals from everywhere. But I still may not be remembering properly.
Yes its great that Bernie got to live to tell the tale and retired in Thailand, but now he's there by himself. He, like the Cappucin monkey and the Australia Croc- also caught as they were smuggled in, now have to live their entire lives in an enclosure by themselves without any of their own species for company or mateship...and that's pretty sad I think...
I thought that the SD zoo actually imported a of of their animals in too...
I have no problem with zoo's if they are clean, properly maintained and the naimals that are there are only there for specicif breeding purposes, like if they are on the edge of extinction, or are rescues that can't go back into the wild, otherwise, I'm not a fan of zoos- especially if they buy in animals form all over the world to be displayed in an unnatural habitat....
Couldn't they at least put another animal in with Bernie? I mean, the internet has plenty of proof that interspecies friendships can and do exist. In fact, I'm pretty sure the SD zoo cheetahs have/had a golden retriever friend that they loved. Hopefully Bernie gets some fulfillment from his human interactions. I get so mad when I think about how many people don't realize how deeply other animals (and other people!) feel, how they don't recognize them as individuals.
Not a big fan of zoos, either, but I appreciate that many of them have changed to try and make a positive impact instead of being a profit-oriented circus show. Sea World, on the other hand, I will always be mad at them. One time I went on a school field trip where we got to go behind the scenes of the arctic fox enclosure. The keeper who was talking to our group said that all the decorative things in the enclosure, like plants, rocks, etc, were only for the people to have something pretty to look at, that the foxes didn't care about any of that stuff. The f!ck the foxes don't care you ignorant little... Anyway. I don't know why I even went on that field trip because I hated Sea World back then, too.
Yeah well the idea of the sanctuary there is to stop the direct human interaction so the animals can eventually get rehabd enough to go back into the wild. Plus Cassowaries are very territorial and can rip you to shreds...so can the Crocs...😳
Actually here is the sanctuary here...https://peakd.com/hive-156687/@chocolatescorpi/a-new-venture-for-2022-and-beyond
Arctic fox enclosure at Seaworld! 😲
Now that makes zero sense! 😳
And WTF! with the keeper saying that! Ofcourse foxes (and all other animals) care about the natural environment around them..They need that. natural environenment for all kinds, of things such as shelter, shade, hiding place, food.... That's just logic and commonsense...
What a fool...🙄 Hope he no longer works with animals!
Oh, yeah, I forgot about that part of the cassowary personality. Saw a documentary or show or something once about a cassowary that was being rehabbed as a chick. Once she started threatening to kill the keepers, they were confident she would make it in the wild.
Also forgot how pretty they are. Is that Bernie in the post?
Did you get the job??
