RE: Feathered Friends - Spring is in the Air

I did not know such bird as The red-winged blackbirds. Discovered on Hive 😊
The red cardinal is species I know from book about breeding birds, when I was young. Right now I looked at the advertisement and you can still buy it (Czech republic, Europe). Too bad I will never have time for breeding again. One has to choose whether to run around cages or go take pictures in nature.

Interesting, they sell cardinals in Europe. Both the red-winged blackbirds and cardinals are very common around here, though I find the cardinals don't like to pose for photos as much as the red-winged blackbirds :-). I once took care of a cardinal for about a week after it crashed into a window. It eventually got better and I let it go but it was pretty mean and bit me and wouldn't let go whenever I tried to change its water and birdseed.

Cardinals here are for sure xxx generation bred in captivity.
