I became a Hive Orca yesterday and was rewarded by beautiful sights.
Your life and my life is not that much different as we all have to face the occurrences in life every day.
Some good and some bad and my way of coping is to just endure and to continue relentlessly. We face hurts and we face happy times and one of the happy things in my life is that my perseverance and hard work was rewarded with the Hive Orca status late yesterday.
Now I am not going to do one of those irritating posts where I tag 100 persons to blow my bugle, but each of you over time know who you are and what you have done to support us.
Our God also knows this and I want to tell you that you are all in our hearts.
This is a sincere THANK YOU to all of you.
I used the squirrel shots as line breakers between the lovely scenes.
She sat reminiscing about the events in her day.
Finally the promise of a short rainbow for our futures.
To the newbies here on Hive only this. I started with nothing some years ago and it was perseverance that did this. Do not regard Hive as only an occasional side line, or a quick rich scheme, as it consists of many opportunities for all of us to eventually improve our situations.
HODL and BUIDL are two words that play a prominent role in Hive and coupled to regular posting and engagement they will deliver the desired results.
To the oldies only this. We were honored to form a deep friendship with you and hope that we have never disappointed anyone. You know who we are, our plans and what we do and we couldn't have done this if it was not for the constant support by each of you. So just know that each of you are highly valued, not for your money, but for who you are.
We only hope and pray to ask for the best of blessings to each of you and your families.

Well just think about it as you will get great experience in the ravages of ageing.
It all starts gradually after you retire, nothing big but just imperceptible changes.
The sights start to dim, the plumbing starts to leak, flatulence increases, a gentle shake starts to manifest and balancing starts to become a problem.
Then the teeth goes, the hair is repossessed and the muscles become weaker and everything sags. Unknown pains in all body parts appear overnight and one has to plead with junior to stand up when one wants to play rugby.
Not a rosy future methinks 😟

Thank you and I agree with you Zeke. I read a post about the issue of creating another fund on hive to support charities and hopefully the idea will grow as times are tough for charities. But we persevere against the odds and a thing that I hate to see is if a charity is forced to close it's doors because a lack of support. But such is life.

Supporting local with my marketing company, we deal with a number of charities. Volunteering is great but it really seems you get what you pay for. So many organizations think they don't have to use any business principals and structure in order to run a successful charity and so many of them turn out to be shit shows. When you switch "Damn I better do better or else I may get fired" to "Ah screw it I am not getting paid for this" and the accountability can go out the window.
It is all about culture and leveraging the expertise you have among supporters otherwise might as well sell lemonade on the corner.
So great to see you keeping on and doing things right.

We have had many volunteers over time, but sadly they just came to get the recognition, as when the real work started they disappeared like mist before the sun. Not even a good bye and it can play havoc in the projects as every loss meant that we had to leave whatever we were doing and do their tasks ourselves.
21 years in the charity field have thankfully resulted in much experience and now we don't fall into the traps, so now we teach people to do things themselves. Glory hunters are everywhere and that is the wrong mindset to enter the charity world, as if there is no heart in it then it creates damages to the self and to others in the poor communities.
I like your "selling lemonade on the corner" take on it.
I wouldn't say it's great as it is an unthankful schlep with many sacrifices as you know, but somebody has to do it and we were elected to be that somebodies.
