RE: Grandparent stories: Legacies of the Grandma We Never Met

in Silver Bloggers3 years ago

Your story immerses in the past. It amazes me how much you know about your family's past, and how well you tell it. This is the paradox of my childhood, since my grandparents are still alive (in most cases), I'm missing an important action - talking with them about their youth. It seems to me that I can do this at any time, and now I'm too busy... It is important to learn their stories, and pass them on to the next generations, as you did, in this wonderful post.

Thank you for reading and for your kind comments - and if your grandparents are still alive and not senile, YES, by all means, TAKE THE TIME to get them telling you stories to pass on! "Too busy" - the day will come when it's Too Late, not Too Busy... I wish I had spent more time with my paternal grandma and spinster aunt. Audio and video recordings would be great to have too. Good luck - may you find time to preserve their memories!
