A Disappointing Outcome. #memoir

We always makes plans and set out goals for ourselves at one point or the other. Sometimes, we are not aware of what the outcome will be. It is wise of every person not to be lazy but to diligently work to be able to cater for their family. The goals and purposes we pursue are all right if we understand duly how to go about them.

The pain of disappointment is usually not very funny sometimes, it can bring discouragement.

Setting Out

Farming is an interesting venture. We observe times and season when engaging in farming. This is because some of the crops could be harvest more than twice in a year if it is planted early. Another thing is that farming is something which depends completely on weather. You can't come up to farm when there is no rain. So, it is wise to start your farming when you see the rain. In fact, farming season is raining season.

Pursuing The Maize

I usually love maize. It is one of our stable food in the country. We love it and cherish it. At the beginning of the season this year, I started pursuing the maize. I desired earnestly to have a good harvest of maize. At the advent of the rain, I set out to get the lands prepared and started the struggle of getting maize.

Fighting Hard

I fought hard to have maize. Why I said that I fought hard to have the maize is that I contended with predators and adverse weather to make my maize stand. Wild animals destroyed a larger part of the grains I planted. I explored all the available means to ensure that the seeds germinated. Even after they germinated, I added fertilizer and other things a farmer should add to his crops to improve yield. I never relented in my determination of having a good harvest of maize.

*The End Results"

The story didn't end well. I virtually had nothing from all my struggle. That is why I said it was a disappointing outcome. Really it was disappointing. I had nothing from that particular farming venture.

The Why

Factors that contributed to my coming back empty after much labour included the destruction from the predators. There were many predators in that land. The portion of land belongs to the Airport Authority and there is restrictions that do not allow local hunters to come and hunt for wild animals. This hunting exercise usually helps farming activities because it redyces the population of the rodents and thereby reduce their destruction of farm crops.

Another reason I might consider is working against the rules. The rules of farming in the area forbids cultivating cereals. Maybe my decision to join others and work against the government regulations made my efforts to be fruitless.

Finally, theft contributed to my lost. Such was a horrible memory which I encountered while pursuing my goal of raising maize in large quantities this year.

Hi there @mfonto I have known enough farners to have hugely disappointing harvests. If the weather does not get you, something else will.
Perhaps for once the authorities had a correct rule.
Good luck with your next harvest whatever it may be.

I wonder If I may give you some words of advice about Hive. People who post three times a day are seen as rewards grabber.
If I were you I would never post more than twice in a day, and additionally I would only post a maximum of once per day, unless in very exceptional circumstances.

Use the time that you would have spent writing the other posts to go out and engage with people. Really get to know the members of the community that you like to post it, and maybe join their Discord server.

Why not ask for a sliver name from us for example?

In the meantime have a wonderful weekend.

How do I get a silver name? Please I will appreciate it and also show me how to use it. Will it be different from my hive username?

On my hive engagement, i use Ecency, lnleo and peakd. In each of them, it looks like there is expectations to be active that is why i post multiple. The strive to enter the contest also contribute to posting multiple. But i have taken your advice. Thank you.

Ecency InLeo and PeakD are just the different front ends, they are all Hive. Whether you post using ecency or peakd does not matter, you will earn the same amount of Hive. If you use Inleo to post then you will earn the same amount of hive but also possibly earn some LEO token which is their token. Of course there is no guarantee of that.
Which front end you choose to post onto Hive with is your personal preference. I use all 3 at different times!

The only expectation is to be engaging on Hive, whatever frontend you use is irrelevant.

The silvername is a piece of fun for members of the Silver Bloggers community... For example I am Scottish and my Silver Bloggers name is Silver Scot.

This post gives you more idea of what it is all about... and what to do
Your Personal Member Name at the Silver Bloggers

I appreciate, thank you very much.
