Hello Silver Bloggers and Hivers!
Just recently, I visited my friend Johanna in her garden center to have a look at the cacti and succulents she has for sale. I was meaning to get new succulent plant to add to my Spanish "smuggled" cactus and succulent collection in Vienna and every season I opted to bring one plant simply to add to my growing assortments.
We were giggling when we made this photo, Maria (Left) said we should take our mask off to show our beauty...Lololols! Johanna is on the right, owner of the garden center.
Johanna`s garden center is called Garden Paradise. Now that it´s December and Christmas is just 13 days left , she decorated her shop according to the season. Outside in the garden, she also has huge olive trees, palm trees for sale. I also get my olive firewoods from this shop and they also deliver it to our house.
I also saw that she stocked freshly cut pine trees. In Spain, pine trees were hard to find because there are not much shops selling them and besides, the locals use those fake pine trees to adorn their homes. Some use dried bush as Christmas tree, painted it white and nicely decorate it with lovely Christmas ornaments.
I have chosen the above succulent because it has many newbies on the side which I could repot. Given the space on the ground, they can spread easily . Its flower is similar to the flower of Aloe Vera.
These are the common types of cactus that are also available in garden centers in Vienna, so I do not intend to bring some.
One new arrival is this weird succulent above. I haven´t seen this one before and I am just thinking whether I should "smuggle" one and put it in the luggage.
The shop was full of lovely flowers and I was in awe when I visited because I would like to get each example. Unfortunately, I can´t plant them in my garden because they need some care. I once tried planting bougainvillea, but then it died off because after we left, there was no caretaker that would water the garden.
Our water supply comes from the 30K Liter tank we have in our plot and this is run by electricity which we turn off before flying back home. We do not want risk of water overflowing to the neighbors so we plant cacti and succulents only as they almost do not need water. Our Cactus garden survived the 22 months that we were not here, no watering whatsoever.
Ho my! Her shop is heaven to plantitos and plantitas! I love all the flowers and the succulents especially the new one you plan to smuggle hope you can bring it in Vienna.
Yes it is really heaven, I haven´t showed the outside part, but maybe next time... Yeah, there is no problem with the smuggling , I just put it in a plastic container as I always did with the others I brought to Vienna.
I love the flowers but not so much for the cacti. I have the succulent which you plan to smuggle in Vienna. Maybe I can feature in a gardening blog about my plants at some point in time.
Yeah, feature your garden or indoor plants here... am excited to see them!

Hahaha, it just so happens that my jacket is red orange, but they have a red uniform. YES they are many plants ... Thanks.
Oh my! This place is really cool. I love all the plants Tita Mers. Maybe because of the weather kaya that's why all their plants are blooming?
They have a lot of poinsettia's too with different varieties, just so lovely.
Maybe, If I will visit this place I would be speechless!
How about the prices Tita, are they affordable or pricey?
Like the succulent that you showed with the many new baby plants on the sides.
How much did it cost? Just curious. Do they use Euro in Vienna too?
Thank you for sharing your happy day to us po. It felt like we were there with you too.
Hello Joie darl..! The price of that succulent I got was 4 Euros, not so expensive as per European standard.
Thank you so much for your wonderful comments!
your welcome po. Looking forward to your many wonderful posts pa po Tita. Take care and God Bless always.
That is an awesome tiny plant out there, I really wish to collect some succulents but the weather out here is so harsh sometimes it makes the cacti bigger, and in the next months it will be withered and gone hahaha...
Try to protect your collection by fencing with either wooden or concrete.. Here we have gusty winds like a string powerful storm but without rain.
It's the cold and windy weather here in the mountain and sometimes the heavy rain makes the succulents droop.
Ang ganda ng mga flowers ate @mers ,i once dreamt of having a flower garden(literal na dream saka pangarap ko tlga),kaso di ko kabalo mananom haha
Try to have a look in the internet, there are many tutorials that you can learn in a short while.
Enjoy gardening! These are stunning plants indeed.
Thanks a lot.. I will, I have to plant other succulents given by my German girlfriend.
Wow ate , looks a garden of paradise .So many choices of plants to look for ,love all the flowers .. ❤️
I didn't know what to buy but decided on a succulent type.. Thanks..
The flowers and other plants are so good but the beauty of the three ladies are more lovely than those flowers.
Hahaha... you`re pulling my leg, no way! Maybe you are talking about the two ladies behind me.
