The Power of Hive - My Top Three

What's all the buzz about Hive?

The power of this blockchain has yet to be discovered by many!

100 moons on Hive and my passion for the platform has not waned, in fact, it's exploded!

A Crypto virgin when I joined back in July 2017, with merely a love of blogging. My memories now are stored here on Hive, my Forever Memory Bank.

My son introduced me and I soon learned that I could speak my heart out on any subject that touches my soul, and no one can silence my voice, unlike some social media platforms!

Hearing that I would earn Crypto by merely investing time, and no Fiat, sounded a little far-fetched, but I trust my son, so I dove into this new world with gusto.

It's been one helluva ride!

(っ◔◡◔)っ ♥ What's been the most amazing aspects of my Hive journey? ♥

I've met people from all walks of life and all corners of the globe. We've had some amazing conversations, learned from each other, and I've formed close bonds with kindred spirits, of all ages!

Unlike in real life where we tend to look at one another and think - 'um, she/he is still a whippersnapper', or on the other side of the coin - 'she/he is an old fogey.'
Yet here, on the blockchain, one can almost be ageless, and connect without stereotyping.

I have yet to find a place where people are as generous in sharing knowledge.

Learning about Crypto has opened up a whole new world to me, I'm still a semi-crypto virgin, as my focus had been on publishing my writing, but I at least have an understanding.

I was blogging my heart out for almost three years before I looked at my wallet with new eyes.

The pandemic hit our shores, and we went into a draconian lockdown in March 2020. Both hubby and I had retired, but opened up an Airbnb to supplement our income and help us maintain a large property. Our Airbnb had become a fully fledged business by then, with the addition of a second unit.

We still had all the overheads, but were forced to close our doors to guests. We only had our retirement income, and although some costs were reduced, there still was a shortfall. Miraculously this was the time of the Hardfork, so all I had in my wallet from the old platform, was mirrored in my Hive wallet.

I was able to power down and turn my Crypto into rands and cents.
That for sure patched many holes in my leather wallet, and became a lifesaver indeed!

I know it sounds crazy, but hear me out!
My medical insurance called me after the unexpected loss of my darling man, offering me a program for grief counseling. I accepted, but never made the appointment.

I discovered that blogging about my grief on Hive was helping me deal with the awful rollercoaster I found myself on. I did not have to get into my car, deal with traffic, and speak to a total stranger about my deepest feelings. I may not even connect with this person.

I blogged my heart out which has been liberating, and amazingly therapeutic. Nowhere else could I have managed to work through my feelings more effectively!

There are many other amazing benefits I enjoy on Hive - I've learned to look at the world around me with new eyes, always on the lookout for something to write about, and discovered small miracles wherever I go.

I belong to many Hive niche communities - from foodies, travel, music, photography, silver bloggers, and more.
You're sure to find a community you can share your interests with!

There's a wonderful new world waiting to be discovered for anyone joining Hive!

You came on Hive to blog as the prime objective rather than earn, and I think that makes hugh difference to your mentality and relationship with Hive. The earning became a bonus which I know you've said in the past was a life saver during COVID. Imagine if you had been withdrawing all the time since you started, you'd have little or none in your kitty during the crisis. And that's the trap many newbies have got themselves into nowadays. They have no long term vision or sentiment with Hive. They will never achieve what you've done on Hive ❤️

That's a good point. Healthy incentivizes encourage people to maintain and develop Hive, but there also has to be a healthy community of people enjoying creating and sharing content with each other. That sort of content and spirit isn't fully compatible with the attempt to quickly extract value from something.

Thank you dear LUT❤️
I've been immensely blessed meeting very special souls here. You've been a wonderful role model, encouraging in all spheres, especially these past 18 months.

People are so conditioned to expect instant gratification.
As in real life, one has to work at achieving success, and have the mindset of ploughing back, not reaping all the time.

Hive has been the perfect base to blog my heart out, the earnings are an absolute bonus, a little nest egg, that I try not to dip in.
Will draw some for a trip one of these days, but both my sons also know where to find my keys when I'm no longer around😉

Dear @lizelle is a sincere, heartfelt and even nostalgic summary of your time and experiences in the Hive. For being the way you are and for your nobility that I noticed from the first days I arrived here, you have earned the affection of many and mine, which has helped you to overcome your loss and the health problems you once had. Your contents are always well received and varied and it is a pleasure to read them. Here we learn a lot, here we share joys and sorrows, here we find new friends. Your son brought you into this world as my daughter brought me into this world and we have to thank you, because today we have one more incentive to continue living with joy. Enjoy this new year and give us new and good content as you know how to do. Congratulations.🥰🤗❤️❤️❤️❤️

Wow @mamani, you're too kind!
Thank you so very much for your warm heartfelt message, I so appreciate you ❤️
Our children for sure knew what they were doing when they introduced us to this platform. It's a whole new wonderful world.

I wonder how many older adults can count on a space where they can meet other beings, who handle similar tastes, with cordiality and who foster friendship, while they write about their interests, freely. I also started in 2017 and it has been my way of solving so many situations, especially health ones. I am very grateful to have this house full of friends, some already visible, because we have agreed to see each other and that is wonderful. May the happy times continue at Hive.

It's been an amazing journey, the timing of writing this when I'm 100 moons old on Hive is quite a coincidence!

Woooww.. a hundred moons 😲😍 I'm on my 84 moons next few weeks, and look at your power 🙌 you're amazing . So glad to know you and stay with the same community with you. @lizelle, I hope you'll always be here.

Coming for crypto but staying because of the community. I forgot who started that phrase, and you're not coming for crypto 😉 but you are always here with the community. I love you ❤️
