Friday Files - 'twas a cold, misty morning

in Silver Bloggers3 years ago

Yesterday dawned cold and wet. I love the colours of the budding quiver tree on a misty morning after the rain.

After another 34mm of rain, the ground is not coping, so it makes silver streams and puddles along the road.

I will never stop being fascinated by rain drops on plants.

After braving the cold, it was into the kitchen to cook up a storm...after the storm. Three pots simmering away.

Two soups: leek and cauliflower and ham and pea.

The other, one of my most popular products, chilli jam.

Lunch was quality control of the pea and ham soup.

Just what the doctor ordered. And delicious. Ready for what promises to be a very chilly market!

After a long day and a brief escape to the local, supper was chicken pie. Prepared a while back with leftover chicken from a roast and frozen specifically for an easy after-kitchen-day supper. The side: sauteed courgettes with McGregor herbes de Provence.

Oh, and of course, this is my weekly contribution to @dswigle's #marketfriday initiative.

Until next time, be well

Another busy Friday but perfect weather for cooking up a storm!
It's nice and chilly here so I can just imagine what it must feel like down your way.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend🤗

It's cold - 5°C - when we left for the market,
yesterday. It was sunny which is good, especially if the temperature doesn't go above 15°C like yesterday! The nights are freezing.

Today should be warmer, thank goodness. May is a little early for this!

Happy Sunday!

Thank you Fiona, it's a sunny 14° here but this icy wind feels much colder!
Have a great Sunday.
