SILVERBLOGGERS CHRONICLES #20: Fashions I've experienced [ENG-ESP]

I find this week's topic fun. As soon as I read the description, my head filled with fond memories. Here I share some of them.

Perhaps the fashion that most defined my childhood was the miniskirt. I remember that my mom liked to dress her four girls, if not completely alike, then with very little variation. So, one of the outfits I easily recall was plaid miniskirts, thick white belts with matching white boots, and turtleneck sweaters. red for some and white for others. Mine was white, and I imagine that this outfit was for one of the famous New Year's Eve parties and then worn on special occasions throughout the rest of the year.

Our biggest fashion influence was an aunt who lived with us and was just coming out of her teens, Morelia, who wore short, bell-shaped dresses in pastel colors, Chanel style, which were very fashionable in those years, and she dressed us in that style. My mom went to a very famous girls' clothing factory, Muñequitas, and these were combined with some famous “Pepitos” brand shoes that had school and dress styles, patent leather and matte. I remember some pale pink patent leather ones with a large buckle in the same shade. I loved them.

When I was older, in the 70s, macho shoes became fashionable. They had wide heels and a slight platform, and were quite clunky in appearance. I had a pair of brown ones that I never took off. Oh, and when Converse sneakers came out, I had them in several colors, as well as some famous Berkemann clogs.

At that time, wide-leg, hip-hugging pants were in fashion, and the fabric of the moment was thick, corduroy. This fashion trend was repeated about twenty years later with other types of fabric. As for blouses, I don't know if what they now call tops were in fashion, a short, tight-fitting garment that wasn't easy to find in stores in my country, so we teenagers replaced them with children's T-shirts that were very tight and short.

As for formal fashion, I joined the tight, straight midi skirt trend, with boots or high sandals. As for hairstyles, one of the most acclaimed was that of the famous and remembered Farrah Fawcett in the television series Charlie's Angels, and although my hair has never been strong and abundant, that was the style I went for.

And with the movie Grease came the fashion of wide, mid-calf skirts, high waists, and sneakers, very schoolgirl-like. I lived it to the fullest, as I was already studying at the teacher training college and it was the favorite outfit of the fashionable girls.

With certain differences, this casual fashion has returned for women of all ages who wear short or long dresses, tight or loose, and the distinguishing feature of the outfit is to wear it with sneakers.

Nowadays, I pay very little attention to fashion, but my outfits tend to be comfortable and practical.

El tema de esta semana me resulta divertido, apenas leí la descripción, mi cabeza se llena de gratos recuerdos. Aquí comparto parte de ellos.

Quizás la moda que más definió mi niñez fue la minifalda, recuerdo que a mi mamá le gustaba vestir a sus cuatro niñas, si no completamente iguales, con muy poca variación, así que uno de los atuendos que evoco con facilidad fueron unas minifaldas con tela de cuadros escocesas, un cinturón grueso color blanco con sus respectivas botas blancas y un suéter de los llamados cuello tortuga, para unas, color rojo y para otras, color blanco, el mío era blanco y me imagino que tal atuendo fue para uno de los famosos estrenos de año nuevo y que luego el resto del año utilizabas en ocasiones especiales.

El mayor referente de moda que teníamos era una tía que vivía con nosotros y que ya estaba saliendo de la adolescencia, Morelia, quien usaba unos vestidos corticos, tipo campana y de colores pasteles, tipo Chanel que en esos años estaban muy a la moda y que a nosotras nos vestían en esa línea. Mi mamá iba a una fábrica de ropa para niñas, muy famosa, Muñequitas, estos eran combinados con unos famosos zapatos marca “Pepitos” que tenía modelos escolares y de vestir, patentes y mates, recuerdo unos rosados de charol rosado pálido con una gran hebilla del mismo tono, los amaba.

Ya más grande, en los 70 se pusieron de moda los zapatos machitos, eran de tacón ancho y algo de plataforma, bastante toscos a la vista, tuve unos marrones que no me los quitaba. Ah y cuando llegaron los deportivos converse, los tenía de varios colores, así como unos famosos zuecos berkemann.

En esta época estaban de moda los pantalones bota ancha y a la cadera, la tela del momento era la pana, gruesa y acanalada. Moda que se repitió como veinte años después con otros tipos de tela. En cuanto a las blusas, no sé si es que estaban de moda lo que hoy llaman top, una prenda corta y pegada al cuerpo, que no era fácil de conseguir en las tiendas de mi país, por lo que las adolescentes la sustituimos con franelas de tallas infantiles de tal manera que quedaban muy ajustadas y corticas.

En cuanto a la moda formal, me uní a la falda midi ajustada, recta, con botas incluidas o sandalias altas. En cuanto a peinados, uno de los más aclamados era el de la famosa y recordada Farrah Fawcett en la serie televisiva, Los Ángeles de Charlie, y aunque mi cabello nunca ha sido fuerte y abundante, pues por allí iba el estilo.

Y con la película Vaselina llegó la moda de las faldas amplias, a media pierna, buena cintura y zapatos deportivos, muy colegial. La viví al tope, ya estudiaba en el pedagógico y era el atuendo favorito de las chicas que iban a la moda.

Con ciertas diferencias esta moda casual ha regresado para mujeres de todas las edades que con vestidos cortos o largos, ceñidos o amplios, el toque que distingue el atuendo es llevarlo con zapatos deportivos.

Hoy en día me ocupo muy poco de la moda, sin embargo, mi atuendo tiende a lo cómodo y práctico.
