A lot of Star Wars fans rolled their eyes when it was revealed in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker that Rey was the granddaughter of Emperor Palpatine through clones.
Before that of her new reveal, there was a lot of fan speculation that Rey could have been the granddaughter of Obi-Wan Kenobi, and it turns out that Lucasfilm, wow I mean the creative team actually toyed with kinda idea is mind BLOWing!
Daisy Ridley recently appeared alongside Josh Gad on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and that’s where she shared the details, saying:
No, at the beginning they were toying with an Obi-Wan connection. There were different versions and at one point she was no one... it kept changing.
My feel on this whole matter is, I'm not surprised they didn't have a plan considering how it played out but it's nice to have official confirmation that they didn't actively PLAN this mess.
