HBD Spending: A Friday Twist at Kilimanjaro in Aba

Earning while spending HBD has become second nature for many of us. This time, the adventure took us to the prestigious Kilimanjaro Fast Food and Eatery in Aba. Interestingly, unlike our usual Saturday hangouts, this particular event was held a day earlier—on a Friday.

The change in schedule didn’t dampen the excitement, though. For me, it just meant adjusting my plans to make it work. Friday mornings are usually packed, so I started my day with some field service and worked until noon. Wrapping up earlier than usual, I dashed home to prepare for the outing.

I had already arranged to attend with a good friend, @renny187, and as luck would have it, my younger brother decided to tag along. The three of us set out together, taking a tricycle to a nearby bus stop. From there, we walked to the eatery, soaking in the bustling vibe of Aba. Along the way, we bumped into @jubbymike, a fellow Hiver and good friend, and we all headed in together.

We arrived early enough to grab good seats before the crowd poured in. Shortly after, familiar faces like @ngobaby, @empressjay, @fokusnow @bummblebee, and @bakinba joined us. It was great reconnecting and catching up with everyone in person. The place was buzzing with activity—it was lunchtime, after all—but we managed to place our orders and even got discounts using the @distriator web app.

For my meal, I went for two plates of rice—fried rice and jollof—paired with two delicious meat pies. The food smelled amazing, but I couldn’t enjoy it on the spot since I had other commitments to attend to. So, I packed everything to go, knowing I’d savor it later.

It was another fun and memorable HBD outing. Events like these remind me of how much of a community we’ve built, turning something as simple as spending HBD into a tradition that’s both rewarding and enjoyable.
