⚠️ The Reality: Abuse Attempts

We have observed a small number of cases where:

• Consumers claim purchases that never happened
• Businesses falsely confirm such claims
• Both parties attempt to share cashback rewards

These patterns are visible in claim logs and blockchain activity and do not go unnoticed.

🧯 Existing Countermeasures (Already in Place)

1️⃣ Ban System

• Ability to ban consumers, guides, and businesses
• Admins and super-admins can act at any time
• Community members are encouraged to report abuse with evidence

2️⃣ Reduced Cashback Percentages

• Cashback reduced from up to 65% → max 40%
• Cashback is calculated on:
  • A random value between 5–9 HBD, or
  • Transaction value, whichever is lower
• This significantly limits abuse impact

3️⃣ Full Transparency

• Every cashback triggers:
  • A Discord notification
  • A Hive blockchain action/comment
• Community members are encouraged to monitor and report discrepancies

🚧 Rolled-Back Restrictions (For Growth)

We experimented with:

• Daily cashback limits
• Country-wise limits
• Business-wise limits

These were rolled back because:

• Crypto payment adoption is already challenging
• Over-restriction discouraged new users and businesses
• Education and onboarding require flexibility

🚀 Major Upgrade: New Security & Cashback Flow

To balance growth and security, we are introducing the following major changes.

🏢 Business Verification (Mandatory)

• All businesses must submit a Business Onboarding Verification Post on Hive
• After 30 unverified cashbacks, businesses will no longer be able to offer cashbacks
• Trusted Business Guides must:
  • Visit the business physically
  • Submit verification using the Distriator app
  • Publish verification details on Hive blockchain using evidences submitted via distriator app.

💸 New Cashback - Curated Flow (Simple Explanation)

Step 1: Payment & Instant Reward

• Consumer pays in HBD
• Consumer submits:
  • ⭐ Star rating
  • Short 2-line review
• Consumer receives 3% instant cashback
• Rating is published on the business onboarding post

Step 2: Optional Detailed Review (Extra Reward)

• Consumer opts for additional rewards
• Submits:
  • Detailed review
  • Photos
  • Custom questionnaire
• Review is published on Hive
• Cashback is not released yet

Step 3: Admin Review & Approval

• Trusted Distriator admins review submissions
• Admin assigns 1–5⭐ rating
• Cashback is calculated based on admin rating

Cashback Distribution Example

If eligible cashback = 1.7 HBD

• Admins can reject cashback entirely
• Approved cashback must be claimed within 30 days, or it expires
