I know I probably mentioned @spendhbd a million times while at work. My colleagues will also see me making posts every time during free hours and they're always interested to know what exactly I mean by spending HBD. Of course, those kind of questions are relevant because, no every one know about the blockchain or even crypto payments in general, to that effect I try explaining to them in the simplest way I can. But through personal experiences, I've come to find out that what someone sees with their own eyes is hardly ever forgotten.
Today at work, my very good friend and colleague @cheeoma wanted to get some snacks from a nearby restaurant close to our office, which have already been listed to accept HBD. She has a brief knowledge about the spend HBD community and a little about the @distriator. She had her first hand experience from months ago when I invited her to the first HBD workshop in my city. She came around on that day and listened as @fokusnow now explained everything about the new method of HBD transactions, after which she also received her first shopping gift 4HBD from the community. It was then she practiced a whole lot of things including getting her own Hive account, downloading the Keychain app and make her first purchases with HBD.
This happened months ago and since then I have been persuading her to keep making more HBD purchases and enjoying some cool cashbacks. Though she always reply affirmatively, she still hasn't gotten the chance to try it out herself. In addition, I've invited her a couple of time to join our @shokin activities, she also haven't gotten a chance to join. However, today when she mentioned she wanted some snacks, I thought it a good idea to take her to one of the listed restaurants nearby to get them since we have quite finished work for the day.
Getting there, we ordered some ice-cream and meatpie to chill with. Now it was time to pay for the snacks from her Keychain. Thankfully, all her keys were carefully safeguarded as I told her to. She quickly logged in and made her payments which was as smooth as butter. Next up was claiming her discount from the distriator. This one was quite a hassle because she kept having internal server issues which wouldn't let her claim the discounts freely. Even after switching networks, the problem still persisted. As a workaround solution, I decided to let her log into her account from my phone. She added her keys and in no time, discounts were claimed, problem solved. She kept asking a lot of questions, some of which were very funny but it was quite understandable. Hey, did I forget to tell you something? We actually forgot to claim our discounts and upload some picture reviews until after we must have finished all the snacks. It was hilarious when I remembered it after, but still we got our discounts.
Anyway, it's was nice mentoring and assisting a newbie who's so excited about knowing how things worked, especially the not-so-regular things. The @spendhbd community is one more people should come to know more about, not forgetting the cool discounts from the @distriator. We will definitely put in more work to keep spreading the word!.
