Let's Visit Crunchies For SHOKiN Day 11

Before things start getting crunchy around here, let me tell you everything that happened at SHOKiN day 11. Remember what means? Shoppers Connect Nigeria, right. With all protocols duely observed, our local guide @fokusnow was able to list another business into the spend HBD project, Crunchies. A fast food that have been around for a long time now, I think it's one of the oldest fast food I can remember. As kids, it was a flex then to be taken to Crunches for outings. Personally, I wouldn't let the other kids rest if I've haven't broadcasted the news about going to crunches to their ears. It was a bit nostalgic stepping foot there once more, this time not to get something to flex about but to be a part of an ongoing revolution that changes the status quo-shopping with HBD.

So it was scheduled we meet up at Crunchies for the usual spending and making other purchases with HBD. Every one got the information a night before the said day, excitements were flying here and there. Someone like @bakinba was already planning how many laps of deep fried chicken he was going to have on that day and as funny as that sounds he was actually the first to arrive at the place. I was still home preparing to head out when @brainbrian dropped a picture of his own jollof rice and chicken in the general Whatsapp group. I was like these guys aren't playing at all.

I ran as fast as my legs could carry me to Crunchies, and when I thought I have seen it all, I met @saraliko and @sammyhive, all there before me and guess what? They've already had the first round of food, the only thing I saw when I got there was bones, especially on the plates used to serve @bakinba. I'm sure he ate many laps of chicken before I could even reach there. On the other table was @ugoglory sitting happily and enjoying her food with her beautiful smiles, @ijebest was really enjoying her ice cream, @chidon was also there with them enjoying his food without any care and lastly @bentrust, it was his first time joining us and the guy just wanted to become a photographer that day.We had other members join us later,@marajah,@nellybestie @debbydaniel s with her squad, and @chimary too, they almost missed the train.

Since I didn't also came to play, I went over to the counter to order my own food. Different shades and colors of Rice was much expected. There was jollof, fried, native, coconut, basmati rand white rice. Then there were snacks begging to be eaten, meat pies, chicken pies, fish rolls and I think I saw burgers too. I have my own specials so it wasn't long before I started parading with my own tray of jollof rice and some beef, oh some salad too.

Paying for my food at Crunchies

I don't know if it was because I wasn't so hungry or maybe the food didn't quite taste as I expected it to but I know I didn't enjoy the food that much. I couldn't even finish my portion plus the salad didn't even help matters, for some reason the vegetables were unusually soft which I didn't like. I had as much as I was able to contain and left the rest because it was time for some camera activity.

The environment was ideal for taking pictures, all clean and spacious. Soon enough cameras with clicking and picture were rolling in. What's a photo moment without some spice? This Soldier hilariously photobombed our picture and made jokes we all laughed to. It was really a fun moment for all of us. After camera shots, some people left while others including myself went back to chill. After chatting with other members who were left, myself and @ngobaby decided to go for some ice cream and that like the best decision. The ice cream was amazing, but when you add that the sun was blazing outside, then it was super.

The days came to an end in no time, everyone headed back to their different destinations feeling refreshed. It was a day to live for at Crunchies, the food , the services, the friends who made it happen. It was just perfect, not to mention the generous tip of 1HBD from the @shokin account to appreciate our time and efforts. We can't ask for more but we can do more, so here's to doing more for spend HBD in 2025!
