A warm greeting to this lovely community. In Hive Open Mic #297, we explore the theme: "Call Me." I have the pleasure of sharing my trumpet rendition of "The Twelve Days of Christmas", a beautiful traditional folk Christmas carol that has endured over time and whose composer is unknown. In 1909, Frederic Austin arranged the melody. The lyrics are an accumulative game that talks about elements of the gospel of Jesus Christ and teaches through codes that avoided persecution in England between 1558 and 1829. The key is F major, but in my case, I perform it in G major. The harmony features mostly authentic cadences and half cadences to close each phrase. The melody is repetitive and the rhythm is steady. The time signature is 4/4. This season, we have the opportunity to open our hearts to joy, peace, and hope.

Un cordial saludo para esta bella comunidad. En el Hive Open Mic #297, exploramos el tema: "Call Me". Tengo el placer de compartir mi interpretación con la trompeta de «The Twelve Days of Christmas», un hermoso villacinco tradicional folclórico que ha trascendido en el tiempo y que se desconoce el compositor. En 1909, Frederic Austin hace un arreglo de la melodía. La letra es un juego de acumulación que habla de elementos del evangelio de Jesucristo y enseña a través de códigos que evitan la persecución en Inglaterra entre 1558 y 1829. La tonalidad se encuentra en F mayor, en mi caso la interpreto en G mayor. En la armonía predominan cadencias auténticas y semicadencias para cerrar cada frase. La melodía es repetitiva y el ritmo es constante. La cifra indicadora de compás es de 4/4. En esta temporada tenemos la oportunidad de abrir el corazón a la alegría, la paz y la esperanza.
I love this week's theme and I want to relate it to Christmas. There are gifts that can be simple but meaningful during this season. A phone call can change someone’s life and it is a way to show love and compassion. I have had the opportunity to receive letters from friends and family, and it truly feels so nice to read words of admiration and encouragement. Imagine, in the past, when sending a letter, it could take many days, months, or even years to reach its destination. With the advent of the Internet and email services, the time has been shortened to seconds. Nowadays, we can make video calls and strengthen family and friendship bonds in real time. Isn’t it wonderful, this miracle of technology and communication? As time passes, the barriers of distance have shortened, and there are no longer any excuses not to communicate. I hope that this Christmas you can remember someone who needs a call. May God bless you and enjoy my performance.

Me encanta la temática de esta semana y quiero relacionarla con la navidad. Y es que hay regalos que pueden ser sencillos pero significativos en esta época. Una llamada telefónica puede cambiarle la vida a otra persona y es una forma de demostrar amor y compasión. He tenido la oportunidad de recibir cartas de amigos y familiares, y de verdad que se siente tan bonito leer palabras de admiración, y de ánimo. Imagínense, antes cuando se enviaba una carta duraba muchos días, meses e incluso años para llegar a su destino. Con la llegada del Internet y de los servicios de correo electrónico, el tiempo se acorto a segundos. Hoy día, podemos realizar videollamadas y fortalecer las relaciones familiares y de amistad en tiempo real. No es maravilloso, ese milagro de la tecnología, y la comunicación. A medida que pasa el tiempo, las barreras del espacio se han acortado y ya no existen excusas para no comunicarse. Espero que en esta Navidad puedan recordar a alguien que necesite una llamada. Que Dios les bendiga y disfruten de mi interpretación.
