The Hive Open Mic community took a stance against war this week, urging musicians to produce in that direction. I wanted to perform a piece that I have been playing and sang for years, the song of the bird of peace.
The lyrics and music of the work belong to Nesimi Çimen. Nesimi Çimen is a poet and singer who has spent her life calling people to friendship and brotherhood. Unfortunately, he lost his life by being burned by the oppressors during a reactionary and fundamentalist rebellion that broke out in the city of Sivas. On July 2, 1993, they burned the Madımak Hotel, where thousands of fundamentalist poets were staying, in Sivas, and 33 intellectuals, including writers, illustrators, poets and musicians, lost their lives.
I sing this song both in memory of Nesimi Çimen and against violence and war. Let the evil disappear, let the wars end. Let the bird of peace fly in the world!

Eserin sözü ve müziği Nesimi Çimen'e ait. Nesimi Çimen hayatını insanları dostluğa ve kardeşliğe çağırarak harcamış bir ozan. Ne yazık ki hayatını da Sivas şehrinde patlak veren gerici ve köktenci bir isyan sırasında zalimler tarafından yakılarak kaybetti. 2 Temmuz 1993 tarihinde Sivas'da kontrolünü kaybeden binlerce köktenci ozanların konakladığı Madımak Oteli'ni yaktılar ve içerde mahsur kalan yazar, çizer, şair ve müzisyenlerden oluşan 33 aydın hayatını kaybetti.
Bu türküyü hem Nesimi Çimen'in aziz hatırasına hem de şiddete ve savaşa karşı seslendiriyorum. Yok olsun kötülük, savaşlar bitsin. Barış güvercini uçsun dünyada!
