Automatic guitar. This was not an easy theme this week. Undoubtedly, this is a great topic set by @alejandrorigo, as the word automatic refers to weapons and makes us think about the actual situation that some countries face. War is not a good answer to resolving conflicts. And guitar, well, that part is not that difficult, we could say :) But what does a singer or a pianist do with the topic of the guitar? Should we learn quickly to play the guitar this week?
That would be cool, as a challenge. A tiny problem, I don't have a guitar so even if I would like to, I could not perform on that instrument. However, I could maybe play a piece that was composed for a guitar? That idea came just this morning, while I was responding to one comment to @okayozdemiroglu. That was the starting point of my journey of preparing the piece called Romance for Guitar (also called Spanish Romance).
The opinions about who is the composer are divided. It is not clear who wrote it as some state that it was Antonio Rubira, others claim that it was Francisco Tárrega, but also several sources say that the composer is Narciso Yepes. I somehow tend to believe in this last option, although in many places we find just anonymous instead of any of the aforementioned guitarists - composers. The tune is very well known though!
A friend of mine, met actually here on hive, likes to play it. He is playing it in another version, in D minor, and the triplets are played in the left hand. (that friend performed it a few days ago in my home, on this same piano). This was probably an additional help to choose the composition for this week. So, I have arranged to my needs another version, that was in E minor, with the triplets shared between right and left hand. But I play them all with my right hand, and I added that slow broken chord movement to the left-hand part, marking the beats.

A guitar piece played on the piano. I don't know do I do it well, I leave this to you. In the end, I like how it sounds and maybe that is already an achievement for me.

Te quedó INCREÍBLE 👏👏👏👏👏 la velocidad es lo más GENIAL 😍, porque en guitarra tener esa velocidad amerita mucha práctica igualmente 🔥🔥🔥🔥; esa fue la 1era canción instrumental que mi papá se aprendió en guitarra clásica de hecho se la escuché tocar perfecta creo que en 2 oportunidades, el siempre quiso en su adolescencia ser concertista de guitarra clásica, mi abuela no le dejó jejeje, en esa época a los músicos los tildaban de vagos por su estilo de vida, y eso que tenía en su ambiente musical a grandes maestros que pudieron haberle enseñado muuuucho, sin embargo eso lo llevó por otros rumbos y resultó siendo militar por esos años... cosas de la vida 😁 lo cierto es que conozco la canción gracias a la influencia de mi papá y que ya de adulto me mostraba videos de grandes guitarristas de este estilo que eran asombrosos!!!
Es interesante lo que comentas de los tresillos, y como acomodaste la ejecución para que fuera más práctica y cómoda, a la final es tu estilo 👍😃, a mi en lo personal me cuesta este tipo de piezas porque no manejo muy bien que digamos la técnica del finger picking que es la utilizada por estos cracks, amerita demasiada práctica y yo me acostumbré a tocar con la pajuela o púa, pronto que compre la guitarra acústica la practicaré poco a poco para futuras participaciones ya que su estética sonora es bonita y elegante!!!

Qué bonitos recuerdos nos traes aquí, me alegro que esta pieza te ha hecho viajar en el tiempo, recordando a tu papá como la tocaba. Eso, ánimo que un día tengas una guitarra acústica y puedas practicar la técnica (yo no sé mucho de la técnica de tocar la guitarra 😅 ) e interpretar esta obra también. Quizás algunas otras obras de la música clásica también cruzan tu camino y salen da las cuerdas de tu guitarra? 😀🎶
Eso sería GENIAAAALLL y créeme que lo intentaré, cuando tenga la guitarra aquí lo sabrás, espero que sea próximamente, estoy haciendo algunos ajustes de bolsillo 😁 pero si la tendré y poco a poco iré incursionando con temas de otros géneros musicales también para ampliar mucho más los repertorios 👍😍🔥🎸🎶💞

I remember when this from my fist experience with a usual instrument ever, it was a keyboard that my uncle who raised me had seized from a a debtor who owed him money and was giving trouble with payment.. this tune was one of my favorite on the library. I remember playing it in the lesson modes and later learning how to play on just the RHS, so soulful😩, I absolutely love it… I was especially waiting for the modulation which is my favorite part of the whole composition… I spotted a small blip at the end though🤐….

There’s a whole other story attached to that lifetime of mine, the music was the most memorable part of it and in that mix, some songs stood out. This one made me feel so many things at once… the start feels like a sad story nd my heart beats fast because of the depth of soul in the notes, later on it modulates to something brighter and more hopeful and at the final modulation I could almost cry again… This means means more to me than you know @mipiano… The mix of emotions with the overshadowing melancholy is very reminiscent of my childhood and songs like this were what I would play around with in keyboard lessons or just play out of the library when I was feeling down and needed some comfort… in my opinion, you couldn’t have chosen a better song… no offense to you😁

Yeah it is, I've missed that a lot... I didn’t know they would mean so much to me, I started playing guitar Na got a different approach to learning music, I was being more creative and not just playing the compositions like I did on the keys.. A musician cannot be satisfied with one instrument, and come to think of it, I’ve tried several in the past but the keyboard isn’t the mother of instruments for nothing, plus a revisit of some deep rooted emotions would be great for inspiration and a little bit of healing I guess… now I have to find a keyboard. My singing only really stared after being able to play with one string on my guitar, I’d give a leg to sing with piano accompaniment😩
Yes, I wish you can find a keyboard and it can serve as more inspiration and fun of learning it again. Ok, not learning from the beginning but refreshing your memory 😇
I lost my keyboard when i was about 15, It's going to feel like learning afresh... I've found one, but I'm not sure if it works. I would have to take a 30min trip to my school community to get it though and I will in time

I used to listen to this piece and imagine endless heartbreaking situations because its music is very sad and seems to want to tell a story, at least I try to perceive that every time I listen to it.
I loved your interpretation. Congratulations.
This melody was also used in one movie, Jeux interdits (Forbidden games) from 1952, it is a drama. Probably this tune evokes some dramatic and sad images, so that was chosen for that film. But also, this piece is very well known among the guitarist, everyone wants to play it. My husband who is not a musician also learned one small tiny part of this romance from his roommate while they were at the university. Whit this song starts and finishes his musician career 😅

They made some magic lol, in the beginning, it was a challenge to decide how to divide the triplets between two hands, and then I felt the most natural to play it in the right hand. This was the first classical guitar song I learned. I had never heard it on piano before, it sounds wonderful. I think it's more difficult on piano. 🤩🎼💯🎶

I like those melodies very much, I guess my ear is used to this kind of music, I look at your fingers and I marvel at their soft movement.

Sé que tocas el piano, pero no sabía que tocabas la guitarra también. Qué bien! Yo toco solamente el piano, ningún otro instrumento...
La técnica se logró durante 14 duros años de educación musical y poco a poco se va perdiendo con los años jajajja. Yo misma noto que no puedo tocar la obras que tocaba hace 20 o 10 años, hace falta dedicar más tiempo cada día a estudiar, que ya no lo tengo... pero bueno, mientras toco estoy bien y feliz :)))
