This is my first video on Hive Open Mic (week #59 – “Buena Vibra”). I was about 2 years without play guitar or sing, so I wont say that this is my best moment how musician, however. I decide to take as a motivation the Open Mic event, and during last 2 weeks I was practicing a song for post here.
Este es mi primer video en Hive Open Mic (semana #59 – “Buena Vibra”). Estuve cerca de 2 años sin poder tocar guitarra ni cantar, así que no puedo decir que es mi mejor momento como músico, sin embargo, decidí tomar como motivación el evento Open Mic y durante las 2 últimas semanas estuve practicando una canción para subirla aquí.
The theme I choose, is one beatyfull song that make us think about how to rise our choldrens, is “Cats in the cradle”. Original song from the musician Harry Chapin, and of which countless covers have been made, one of the most popular was from the band Ugly Kid Joe. On my case, I did my best, even if it is a simple song, it takes me a lot of effort to make the arrangements and sing it, so I hope it was not so bad.
El tema que elegí es una hermosa canción que nos hace reflexionar sobre como criar a nuestros hijos, es “Cats in the cradle”. Canción original del músico Harry Chapin, y de la cual han hecho infinidad de covers, siendo uno de los más populares el de la banda Ugly Kid Joe. En mi caso, hice lo que pude, aunque es una canción sencilla, me costó bastante trabajo poder hacer los arreglos y cantarla, asi que espero no haya quedado tan mal.

Well, he came from college just the other day,
So much like a man I just had to say,
"I'm proud of you. Could you sit for a while ?"
He shook his head and he said with a smile,
"What I'd really like, Dad, is to borrow the car keys.
See you later. Can I have them please ?"

"When you comin' home ?"
"Son, I don't know when.
We'll get together then.
You know we'll have a good time then."
I've long since retired, my son's moved away.
I called him up just the other day.
"I'd like to see you, if you don't mind."
He said, "I'd love to, Dad, if I could find the time.
You see my new job's a hassle and the kids have the flu,
But it's sure nice talkin' to you, Dad.
It's been sure nice talkin' to you."
And as I hung up the phone it occurred to me,
He'd grown up just like me.
My boy was just like me.
(Yeah, yeah, yeah)

"When you comin' home ?"
"Son, I don't know when.
We'll get together then.
You know we'll have a good time then."
I hope I would play my guitar and sing as I did many years before, and share with you other well played songs on upcoming weeks of Hive Open Mic. Thanks for listen.
