Hi everyone! This is my first try at the Open Mic. This is a version of Oscar Peterson's Hymn To Freedom which I think suits the theme.
Hymn To Freedom is from the iconic jazz album Night Train, and while Peterson's version is more bluesy, I here play it very softly and subtly.
Oscar Peterson is one of the first jazz pianists I was introduced to and actually, one of the first-ever CDs I bought was with his trio (nerd). I later departed from listening that much to him, but he's still a master of rhythm and is one of the most recognizable jazz pianists out there.
Anyway, I hope you listen and enjoy - I hope I did everything right according to the rules.

I like the angle of your video recording, but I am afraid it was not the best for the sound recording. But please, don't take it as a critique, just like an advice 🙏

You are welcome, and your wonderful playing absolutely compensates it... I tried that angle once, and recorded with the phone. The result was similar, so I was trying different ways of recording too. (I am still trying to find a nice angle and place in the apartment and I am still not happy with mine 😆 )

Sweet piece. Unfortunately too late to upvote. Next time try to record the piano separately with another mic cause the camera's one catches the sound of your fingers and masks the piano. Cheers 🙂
