It's being over five months since I left my house to go and serve my country. I wrote a post about it a few months ago. I disappeared away from the face of the earth, I mean hive by the way, lol. It's being an exciting adventure for me. I have had a complete change of environment and it sure does feel good. I was always looking forward to this since like forever. I didn't want to stay home anymore, and the scheme was a perfect opportunity for me to escape from the clutches of my family. Mhen, those guys do get on my nerves a lot.
I don't want to have to start all over again explaining to you what the scheme is. Basically it's NYSC, national youth Service Corp. A scheme where youth are deployed to various states across the 36 states in the country to serve the country. I currently serve in a Seminary school where I work as a library staff. You must have heard that a million times. I get access to around ten thousand books, which majorly include philosophy and theological books. It's pure Bliss I tell you.
The place has its pros and cons. One part you get assess to great WiFi and books, another time you go completely off grid. Takes a shit ton of sacrifice to write a post at all. The hills and rocks are insane. I climb up a steep hill almost everyday. Great experiences though.
Getting out of the place is a different conversation. You pay a crazy exorbitant fee just to get out the bustop. It's crazy. It's like making only 10% of your journey and you're already paying a big fee. I seldom go out due to the stress of going out, difficulty of getting a motorcycle and of course the fee.
After all my whingeing, I can tell you for certain that I am very privileged to be here and I am savoring every moment because in just a few months it would be done. Now thank you for reading this. Cheers.
You're welcome. I learned more about you in this one than several prior. Very nice read sir. I encourage this behavior.
Thank you Dan.
This sounds like someone took your phone off you and sent this message. 🤣
Mission accomplished.
Those boots look nice, are they part of the Scheme as well? Nice to know about you. Be safe, enjoy those books and keep up those nice pictures!
Grazie Bert. Feels great to get a comment from you again.
Yes the boots are from the scheme. I really like them, they are so strong and comfy
Internet's been playing dirty on me. 😅
They look incredible.
I reckon I have it worse 🤣
Enjoy your time left there and it seems that a few people are taking some time off here. Life happens to all of us but as long as Hive is not forgotten we all will meet up here again eventually. :)
That's a fine way to put it. Cheers to life 🥂.
How convenient you get to work in a library...pure bliss indeed.
Haha, you know this 😊😅
Hope you're enjoying your service year bro?
Meanwhile, serving in a seminary school... you have a thought of becoming a Reverend Father?
Very much boss,
Thank you.
I wonder why everyone is telling me this 😂🤣

Thank you
I wouldn't have survived it at all, I don't go out much but the idea of not being able would freak me.
I was lucky to serve in Abuja.
wow, you get mind. I dont think I could have served in such a place. I did my orientation camp in Oyo state but i was redeployed back to lagos. I did not have much a nysc experience because of the pandemic which i was grateful for. I never had any real intention of serving. But on the bright side they did review the nysc stipend during my year. so i was basically earning for doing nothing. I don chop government money sha
You na seniorman boss 😅
The place has its sweets benefits Sha, e.g they provide 3 square meals
