RE: Hive-Naija Weekend Engagement #41 - "Dealing With Anger"

in Speak Peace2 years ago

To be honest God helps me deal with anger. By God's grace have that consciousness that we by default want to show say My own no good ooo , I dey Para ooo and all that.... and I have come to see that saying things like I get anger issues (even if you actually do to an extent) is because you are actually proud of it, and saying so emanates from that need to prove say You get weyrey.

As for the first question, if I notice that lost hold of myself and let anger get the best of me, I simply reach out to God to help me cos the truth is you can't stop your anger yourself, at least not as fast as you might need to calm down..... Sometimes it's just a silent prayer, other times I listen to music. Bad as e bad I play game, watch movie or gist with friends to in addition take my mind off the matter.

As for breaking of stuff, no be me and you...... Na so one craze guy for my compound last year use come dey ask me where he can fix his TV after damaging it's screen, alongside one or two other stuff in his house.

@Obaro come back o..... @Benii we are waiting..... @kierydearie i'll love to see you here wether late or early..... @Niglys come tell us some anger stories..... and @vheektorjay carry freshness and come and finish us, na your way

Anger is an inherent emotion present in every human beinh but has detrimental effects when its not kept in check or mishandled.....Well said @stefanovah

Just like the guy you mentioned, he felt destroying a functional TV could restore his sanity and extinguish the feeling of anger he must have felt at that moment, unknown to him that he was only creating more problems for himself. The TV might have just been a physical object but this result can extend to relationship and even our mental well being..

Just like you've rightly pointed out, taking it to God in prayer is one practical and helpful way to correcting this issue. In addition, taking out practical steps like taking a walk, talking to a friend about the issue, listening to music, and even shedding one or two tears to pour out the pent up fume to avoid further surge will also help..

Make I drop my mic for here fess

👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 you deserve some accolades

I no say you go like am na, when she don out God hehehehehe 😂😂😂😂 bad guy

😀😀😀

Hehehehe you have indeed said something great and you need to chop knuckle...

Going to God in prayer and also working out,..

I want to ask you a question hehehe

Sure dear...
What's your question?

Hehehheeh don't mind me heheh it's just me pulling your legs hehehehe 🤣

You eehhh😂😂

Ma enipe 😏😁😁😁

I know your question..Or I guess.
Won't that work out just make your muscles getting ready for another round of tense anger moments?

Just like the guy you mentioned, he felt destroying a functional TV could restore his sanity

Very well, that only works with oyinbos. Not in Africa especially Nigeria. Our anger issues no reach that energy level abeg. Things are costly.. Although, that is why it is necessary to learn how to contain our anger.

But I can bet that that guy that spoilt his TV has watched too much of oyinbo movies. Right, @stefanovah.

Its okay to pray to baba God and take steps too, maybe going for a break or walk or better still seeking the help of a therapist. But do Nigerians go for therapy?🤔😂

Omo no be American anything, the guy dey smoke everything, dey take anything takeable...... It is constant highness turning small small into madness

He dey smoke?? Na big wahala be that...
You know those things have made him high - to the extent that he probably thought he was not an African any more hence vexed his anger on his TV..🤣

Para man😂😂😂😁. I like you jhor 😂😂. Nothing bad,you go just learn not to Dey para much😂

No mind am hehehe

Lolz..... You didn't read what I wrote well

As for breaking of stuff, no be me and you...... Na so one craze guy for my compound last year use come dey ask me where he can fix his TV after damaging it's screen, alongside one or two other stuff in his house.

Better, I was already thinking from your picture that this man looks not like a regular Nigerian. Maybe he can break laptops, TVs when he is angry.🤣
Even our emotions know that this is Nigeria!!🤣 So it dares not do stupid un-Nigerian things..🤣

Lolz...... God abeg o

Ah, comrade say God abeg 🤣
