I joined the Hive Blockchain in May 2021. So in some days, weeks I will be a year old here. I would describe my journey here as insightful and fun. I have learnt so much and I still am.
Being a new member was a mix of tough and smooth, I will like to rate it as equal percentage; 50% smooth,50% tough. It wasn't that tough, neither was it all smooth. I will say I am better now than when I joined. I have also enjoyed the benefits of this Blockchain from different votes from followers who votes my post in different communities.
It is true that Hive is an open space that is open to a variety of topics, so one will definitely find where suits one without stress and it can be more than one place.
Interestingly, this blockchain has made me better at or rather revived my writing skills(I had long stopped), It has impacted on my creative world(I do a lot of brainstorming now). I was very optimistic the moment my friends @udygold and @glotokens told me about this platform and got me registered. I never held back. Gave it my best. I didn't have a hard time finding my niche because they guided me on what community to join and they kept telling me about new Ines in case I was interested. They still do.
One thing I see that matters here is "Consistency". Initially, not many communities /followers were receptive in terms of comments, votes, likes and reblogs but I discovered the more I posted just for fun,the more the comments, votes, reblogs and likes increased. I still am following as many.
I have got people following me and I keep getting better at postings and my writing too.
I like to write about random things and my best community is OCD ; It's an Original Content Decentralized Community that is open to post of any topic,so long it is original. Don't get me wrong,I participate in Hive Naija,Ecotrain,Ladies of Hive,The Weekend Contest and post there too and it's helps keep my intellectual ability on check when told to write on a given topic. I post recipes on Foodie Hive and post about medicinal plants, benefits of fruits, plants on Natural Medicine. I just discovered a new community called Black and White where I can post pictures taken in white and black and I posted for the first time last week. I still am checking out other communities.
I don't struggle in OCD as I can't post just about anything and that is peaceful but you know learning is a process,so I am sure getting better at my niche while discovering others.
Thanks for engaging my blog!
Happy hiveday to you in advance. It is good that you had people guiding you and you cared to listen to them to that made your journey easier I most say.
Thanks for sharing with us
Yeah it sure did. Thanks for reading through! @hivedeb
😃
I personally don't see the problem in having more than one niche 🙃
Hahahaha...especially when you have many different things to write about?...thanks for reading through @wolfofnostreet
Nice one friend. I hope to get better someday also
The platform has indeed blessed us with different communities, 100+.
One can easily find whichever community that suites him or her.
Motherhood community all the way for me🤩
YesI agree with you @nkemakonam89 thanks for reading through
I'd like to make a correction if I may. OCD is for topics that don't fit in any other community and should be used when you don't find a niche community for your post.
We have different communities on Hive and we're encouraging users to post in the right community based on the topic of the post.
Here's a guide I put together to help you learn about how communities work and why you should use them -> Communities Explained - Newbie Guide.
Once you posted your post in the right community, you can then cross post it to OCD community. Here's a guide about cross posting.
I get all you have said @erikah. But do you do when you do not know of any other community to post it but OCD? Some of us are learning these things everyday. And it's a gradual step.I appreciate your guiding me and I sure will get it with time.
That is why I give you the link of some guides, to help you learn how to search and use communities.
