Humanity in the next 100 years ~year 2122

in Speak Peace2 years ago

It is fascinating how the world changed within the space of 10, or 20 years. You visit a town, city or even a country, you return a decade or more later and you see changes. These changes might be breathtaking or even little, nonetheless, you see changes.

In 2015, when my mother moved to our own house, we were just 3 houses in the neighbourhood. 2022, Seven years later, new houses have been erected, new businesses built and new faces every other day.

In 1922, the world had no internet, technology was rearing its head, and information was gotten majorly through the newspaper. People were becoming enlightened about radio and television was still in its developmental stage. However, humanity was very much alive. People care about their neighbours.

In the present year 2022, technology is now in advanced stages, the internet is here, we loved it and I can't even fathom a world without it. Information is passed and gotten easily, the world itself has gone digital.

To answer the question "What would the world look like in the next 100 years?"

I believe technology would have become even more advanced, the development would be extremely beyond what it is now, newer things will be invented and the world might even look like the virtual games we have now.

However, what will humanity be like in the next 100 years?

As of now, humanity is hanging on a thread. People no longer care for their neighbours. Every day with a different story; killings and scamming have become the order of the day. Killings are done for rituals, people kill even on minor issues, some people kill just for the thrill of killing and many have lost their lives due to religious intolerance. Scammers scam you of your hard-earned money.

And the youth? Young people as young as 15 years go to extreme lengths for money, fame and popularity.

If all this is happening now, what will it be like in the next 100 years?

My say is this:

In the next 100 years; yes, the world would have become more developed, technology extremely advance, and newer things invented, however, my heart bleeds for humanity. Humanity would be hanging on a very very tiny thread in the next 100 years, humans would have become even more terrible thereby making the world even more dangerous than it is now.

These are just my thoughts though, the world might prove me wrong and humanity better than what it is now...
