San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore is a church in Milan, rebuilt in the 16th century and formerly the seat of the city's most important convent belonging to the Benedictines (a Catholic cloister founded by the Italian Saint Benedict on Mount Cassino in central Italy in 529). Located on the corner of Via Luini and Corso Magenta, its interior is decorated with numerous frescoes by the Leonardo da Vinci school and is also known as the Sistine Chapel of Milan or Lombardy.
Construction of the existing church began in 1503 and historians believe it was designed by the architect and sculptor Gian Giacomo Dolcebuono, assisted by the architect Giovanni Antonio Amadeo, who was also responsible for the construction of the Milan Cathedral's tibia. The facade of the church was the last to be completed, in 1574, by Francesco Pirovano.
The church also includes a crypt, which was later included in the visit of the Archaeological Museum. The whole church was conceived as two parts, a public vestibule dedicated to the faithful, and a larger back room dedicated to the nuns of the convent. The nuns were not allowed to cross the partition wall in any way; the door of communication between the two halls was only opened after the suppression of the convent in the 19th century. The door between the two halls was only opened after the suppression of the convent in the 19th century. They allow them to watch the services held in the Hall of the Faithful through a large grille in the archway above the altar.
The whole church is internally a single nave with a vaulted dome and divided into two spaces by a partition that separates the space of the nuns attending Mass from the fence from the space of the faithful. In both naves, the nave is flanked by several small chapels covered by barrel vaults. The entire church is covered with 16th-century frescoes on the vaults, sidewalls, partitions, and chapels.

Hi @victory622 I just wanted to touch base with you to ask for a witness vote. Keep up the photography and posting content, it helps support our small but active blockchain community. I am a new witness and I am here for the long term, I own my hardware, hosted here in Adelaide. Thanks again.
